Freaking Amazing Headset

Razer Battlefield 3 BlackShark 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Expert 2.0 Gaming Headset
Razer Battlefield 3 BlackShark 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Expert 2.0 Gaming Headset

Pros: Deep bass, with no crackling when there are heavy explosions or when I am bombarding the drivers with heavy bass from my extensive techno library. Amazing sound quality, good for gaming and music. Impecable sound isolation. Wonderful design, very rugged and well put to together. Kudos for using metal for the construction of the head band. I had a phillips headset that had the earcup break off because it was made of plastic. I love that the boom mic is removable as I do in fact game and then leave the house and listen to music on the go. I love the insert for the headset if you remove the mic. Seems as if Razer thought of everything.

Cons: No cons wonderful build quality.

Overall Review: The only thing that I can think of, and I wouldn't call this a con because it is easily fixable, is the boom mic and its swiveling feature. I got this headset for my bday on the 17th of this month and today the mechanism fell apart. That being said nothing broke. And the way everything is designed I don't think it will ever break. That being said, After close inspection I found out that there is a threaded part at the end of the mic jack inside the swivel mechanism that is held tight by another threaded circular washer on the other side. People have been experiencing loosening because of the fact that they keep moving the mic up and down and the washer gets loose. If you remove the silver part on the top part of the swivel mechanism you will see the washer. Just simply tighten it back on and you will have fixed the issue. The best part is the fact that the silver part snaps right back in because there is a metal part inside the mechanism that holds it in place. e.g. you don't have to worry out pulling the silver part off and having to re-glue the silver part back on. It just snaps back in. Long story short, after my tinkering with it I fixed it and I don't think I will have to tighten it again for a long time. The mic swivel action actually has more resistance when I move the mic because I tightened the washer. :) People have been saying up and down that this is a major con, but all they need to do is tighten the washer inside and the voila the problem is solved. They are saying that this is a major issue that Razer didn't account for, but it is accounted for in the design, as this is a military head set design every part in here is high quality and it has lots of metal in it. They used a metal washer to tighten the swivel mechanism, just be glad they didn't use plastic. Then the boom mic is liable to snap off. All you have to do is tighten they mechanism every now and again like you would the nuts on a skateboard. :)
