Great Little hub
Pros: Flexible ports that tilt open. Fast speeds
Cons: none
Overall Review: Have had this on my iMac for a year. Am buying another for my co worker who's other hub failed. The tilting ports in the back are very handy. I plug my keyboard and phone usb cable in the back, leave the front for in and outs. It Is powered, so you need to deal with that. but that makes it fast
1 year and going strong
Pros: Great, great value. Bought the 510 Refurbished and couldn't be happier. Batteries last us a long time. I think I have only changed them once in the year we had this. And only because we thought it might be getting less sensitive. It is pretty good about not having to be pointed RIGHT at things. It's fairly Easy to program using the software/website. Does everything I want it to. I control a Plasma TV, A/V receiver , Cable Box and BluRay. Turn all on 1 clcik Using the "Activites" concept, you choose Blu-Ray or TV or Stereo, etc. Each with it's own Surround settings on the stereo for that matter. If something doesnt work, sometimes things wont turn off for whatever reason. you hit the HELP button and BAM.. It's all off or on.... Magic..
Cons: FF and SKIP and Pause buttons arrows are wearing but it gets used HEAVILY! Numeric buttons are small and close together but it's not a crying shame..
Overall Review: GLOW button to selectively glow the buttons when you need to for a few seconds. Can use multiple millisecond pauses in the programming so that it sends the signal at the right time to certain devices like, let's say, you turn the TV, A/V receiver and Cable box on. But maybe the TV Menu won't be active for 3-5 seconds. You program pauses into the sequence. Then when the Cable Guide or BlueRay Guide is active, you can have it scroll to your favorites like HULU, or A***** Video and Enter. You can get pretty deep.
sounds very realistic
Pros: Variable crossover, phase switch, looks. Sounds very real. Bass varies more then the Harmon Kardon Subwoffer that failed on me. I replaced it with this. This thing can really make some serious noise if you turn it up! Yet at lower levels it blends in well with me small Polk surround speakers.
Cons: none
Great Surround Setup
Pros: Lots of sound controls and fine tuning. Modes offer a great selection. 4 HDMI inputs - I now only have 1 connection to my Plasma TV. -1 HDMI from the Receiver. Everything else hooks to the Yamaha. Audio passes through. Manual on CD was very thorough and answered my question about how to hook up my old Subwoofer.
Cons: It's rather large but not as big as most. Fit in our Ikea cabinet perfectly. Size was a shopping choice for me...
Overall Review: I like the display also, easy to read. I feel I got a great device here. I upgraded from an old Dolby Surround Pioneer that was about 10 years old.
Works great as Time Machine Backup on my iMac
Pros: Cheap, fast, easy. When something works you have no complaints.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Created PC and Mac partitions and use it for Time Machine Backups and as a shared PC drive with colleagues.
Great Deal - Easy to setup
Pros: Easy to setup, menus are intuitive. HDMI switching. You cant switch non hdmi inouts out to the hdmi that you hook up to the TV. Be aware of that. I am using all HDMI after finding the Wii HD adapter. This unit has great Surround effects. I used a Y adapter for my old Analog powered dual plug Sub into the single sub connector. Smaller then the old H/K i replaced.
Cons: None. got it for a great price with $50.00 discount.
Overall Review: Allowed us to have a single HDMI to my Panasonic Plasma. Inputs are: Uverse DVR Sony BluRay Wii
