So far so good

HGST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
HGST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Price Capacity Warranty Not DOA

Cons: Not SATA 6Gb/s* 32MB Cache* *See other thoughts

Overall Review: I purchased 2 of these to go into a home server RAID 5 setup. The first thing I did when they arrived was run a full surface scan and R/W test (took several hours each), and both drives passed without a hitch (no bad sectors found). I've deemed them worthy to install permanently, so only time will tell about how reliable they are and how long they last. They do come with a 3-year warranty still (while other manufacturers have dropped their warranty period to 1-2 years for most of their products), although having to RMA a dead drive and rebuild the array afterwards would really tick me off. I'll update this review in the future once I can more accurately assess long-term performance and reliability. As for the cons I mentioned, they aren't really cons to me. I knew what I was getting when I made the purchase. My motherboard only supports a max SATA speed of 3Gb/s per port (it has 6), and a 7200 RPM mechanical HDD couldn't saturate the connection no matter how hard it tried except in very short bursts to fill the drive cache. 3Gb/s translates into roughly 400 MB/s throughput. It would take a SSD or RAID 0 array of 10,000 RPM disks to hit that mark (note that the RAID 0 would actually be using at least 2 SATA ports, so SATA 3Gb/s per disk would still be plenty). The cache is a bit lower than some of the other drives out there, but I don't think it's a real deal-breaker. If you're planning on doing a lot of writing to the disk (especially lots of smaller files <2-3MB simultaneously) you might want one with a larger cache, but it won't make a huge difference, especially if you defragment/optimize your disk regularly. If you're looking primarily for a data storage drive (mostly read activity), this will fit the bill quite well, especially on a budget.

18 months and still going strong

RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Low Cost Quiet Reliable Stable power output Semi-Modular Power Supply (see note)

Cons: Not 80+ Certified Needed 24-pin extension cable to reach my Motherboard power plug without stressing the cable (con for me, long enough for all but the largest of cases)

Overall Review: I've had this power supply running 24/7 in a custom built home server for well over a year now without even the slightest hiccup. I've lost count of how many hours this thing has on it of power-on time and not once encountered any power/stability issues. I was a little hesitant at first based on the price, but it has exceeded all my expectations. It powers my VM host/file & media server with no problems at all. For normal PC uses, it will supply all the power you need for your system to run smoothly. For normal systems (1 CPU with mild overclock, Graphics card with 1x PCIe power connector), this power supply will work for you. I would recommend a power supply with a higher power output (esp on the 12v rails) if you want to do heavy overclocking or use high-end or multiple graphics cards (e.g. gaming rig). A side note on their use of the term "Modular": It has the 20+4-pin Motherboard and 4+4 pin CPU hardwired into the power supply. This isn't a problem as it's needed for all systems anyways, but technically makes this a semi-modular power supply instead of fully modular. System Specs: Intel LGA 771 Motherboard 2x Xeon E5430 CPUs 8GB (8x1GB) ECC-FBDRAM 1x Dual-port Intel Gigabit NIC (PCIe) 4x 80MM case fans 2x 120MM case fans 1x 120GB 2.5" HDD 3x 1TB 3.5" HDDs (RAID 5 storage) Huge old customized Antec server tower case

Great Fan

COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)

Pros: Great airflow Whisper-quiet Not that ugly orange color

Cons: $16 per fan can seem pricey No bulk/package options

Overall Review: I got 2 of these several months ago for some extra cooling for my server case, and they are wonderful. I was initially a bit skeptical about spending $30+ for a couple of simple case fans, but I don't regret it at all. As noted above, they have great airflow while staying virtually silent. There is no need to worry about a fan controller with these, just plug them in and let them run 100%. I can't speak to how long they'll last over the years (I hope it'll be years), but I've put about 2000 hours of use on these so far and they're still going strong. Note: Get fan grills for these if you don't have something protecting the rotating assembly. Many newer cases have them built in, but some older/low-end ones don't. Not only will they protect unsuspecting fingers & paws from getting sliced, but they'll also protect the fan and motor from accidental damage, promoting a longer life. Grills are super-cheap compared to these, so go ahead and spend the extra few bucks to grab a few.

6.5mm Domed Titanium Ring (Men's and Women's)
6.5mm Domed Titanium Ring (Men's and Women's)

Pros: Price Amazingly lightweight* Strong Perfect fit Hypoallergenic Metal Amazing Seller *For buyer reference, my size 7.5 ring weighed in at a meager 3 grams, which is just a hair heavier than a single penny.

Cons: Not resizable (obviously) Scuffs fairly easily (see comments)

Overall Review: As many reviewers have noted already, the polished surface does get scuffs pretty quickly. I knew this when I made the purchase, and I like the more rustic look it gets as you wear it. And as no 2 rings will get scuffed in the same way, yours will truly be unique to you! A good jeweler could probably buff out the surface scuffs for a modest fee, but if you're paranoid about keeping a pristinely-polished finish you might want to consider a different metal like Rex's wide assortment of Tungsten Carbide rings. As for me, I couldn't be happier with it. It's so light I occasionally forget I even have it on, and I think it looks better every day. I'll admit I was a little hesitant to buy at first, but I have absolutely no regrets and plan to buy buy from Rex again soon. Speaking of Rex, I have to give him some major props. He was a wonderful person to interact with. His service is easily on-par with that of Newegg itself, and his prices are unbeatable. If this isn't enough to convince you to take the leap and buy from him, check out his marketplace reviews, as well as the reviews people have given him on all his products. He's gotten over 200 reviews, and the overwhelming majority of them are all 5-star. All I can say is that there's a reason for this, and he works hard to make sure his customers are happy. Thanks again, Rex, I'll be back for a couple more items here in a couple weeks! I usually have a hard time picking Christmas gifts for my parents, but you've inspired me this year! I definitely owe 'ya one!

Unisex Tungsten Carbide Ring, Polished, Comfort Fit
Unisex Tungsten Carbide Ring, Polished, Comfort Fit

Pros: Price Fast Shipping (on the way less than 5 hours after my payment cleared!) Incredibly Durable Perfect Fit Beautiful (Pictures don't do it justice) **Amazing Seller**

Cons: Not resizable (obviously) May be a bit heavy for some people* *I knew this going in because I know the metal this ring is made from. You do get used to it pretty quickly, though. For buyer reference, my size 7.5 ring weighed in at 13.1 grams.

Overall Review: For starters, I'd like to say that Rex is an amazing man to deal with. His quick response and amazing service puts him easily on par with Newegg itself. Check out the reviews on his products and his marketplace and you'll see what I mean. He's gotten hundreds of reviews, and they're overwhelmingly 5-star for a darn good reason. If that's not enough to convince you, give him a call and he'll put your mind at ease. As for the ring itself, I couldn't be happier. Its finish is stellar and it fits perfectly. While it may be a bit hefty weight-wise, it's also virtually indestructible. I've banged and scraped it against a number of things (marble counters, steel cases, brick walls, etc.) and there's still not a scratch on it. In fact, a quick wipe on my shirt makes it shine just as brightly as the day it arrived. I'm sure I could damage this ring if I really wanted to, but I'd have to break out my shop tools and make a real effort to do so. There's a reason they make industrial tools (like high-speed metal-cutting drill bits) with this alloy. Oh, and good luck trying to damage it with heat, its melting point is about 7,500*F =). Thanks again, Rex, and I'll be back for more in a couple weeks! I've got some Christmas shopping to do for my folks, and I've got my eye on a couple of your other rings that would be perfect!

Works

Seagate Backup Plus 2TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop Hard Drive STCA2000100 Black
Seagate Backup Plus 2TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop Hard Drive STCA2000100 Black

Pros: Good price High capacity USB 3.0 3-year warranty Not DOA

Cons: No SMART monitoring (BIG con - minus 1 egg for this) Useless (to me) software pre-loaded

Overall Review: I purchased this to replace another Seagate external drive that began failing. Fortunately I caught the pending failure in time to retrieve most of the data from it before it became completely unreadable. I was actually very lucky I caught it in time. The first thing I did when I got this was to do a full format and surface scan (it passed) to give me some idea of how much trust I can put in this drive. I bought this to be strictly data backup/cold storage, so it will be powered-on only when I need to run a backup or restore operation. The read/write performance is much better than my old USB 2.0 drive, which makes file transfers much more pleasant. I hope it lasts as long as the warranty. After I reformatted this drive, I loaded up my diagnostic suite to do a full disk test and disk health check. To my dismay, the disk had the native SMART monitoring and diagnostic capabilities disabled, and there is no way to enable it. Even with limited use, I'd still like the ability to run periodic health-checks and self-diagnostics to help identify problems before the drive fails and I lose my backup data (which would be especially upsetting if it happened when I needed to restore one of my systems from a backup stored on this drive). For a frequently-accessed/continually-used drive, SMART is a MUST! Fair warning: If you plan to use this drive for major storage and frequent (i.e. daily) use, be prepared for the possibility that if/when this drive fails, you'll likely have no advance warning. This product is intended for BACKUP use (notice that in the product name?), so I'd highly recommend finding a different drive if you are looking for a daily/continual-use external drive.

Can't go wrong!

What can I say? His products are amazing and the service is impeccable. If you're reading this, you've probably got your eye on one (or more) of the products they sell, but you're unsure how much faith to place in the seller. If the multitude of 5-star seller ratings and 5-star product reviews aren't enough to convince you to take the leap and make your purchase, then follow my lead and send them a message. Rex prides himself on having happy customers, and he'll do whatever he can to make that happen. I'll admit I was a bit hesitant buying from a marketplace seller for the first time, but Rex put all my worries to rest. I ended up buying 2 rings from him, and I couldn't be happier that I did. Not only did the rings far exceed any expectations I could have had, but the service he gave me was truly remarkable. On top of that, I also get the pride of helping support a small business here in the US! Thanks again, Rex, and I'll be back for more soon!
