Lasted 7 1/2 years
Pros: It just died this morning. I purchased it from here in Aug of 2006 and the desktop ran mostly 24/7. It outlasted 3 motherboards and 3 video card upgrades, so I would call that a good run.
Cons: Is not modular.
Died after 2 months
Pros: Good performance
Cons: Died after 2 months, lost all data. Massive read errors.
Good MythTV remote
Pros: Good key layout. Easy to setup with Linux using Fedora 11. Working with MythTV via lircd daemon.
Cons: The instructions are worthless and appear to cover several different products. The USB receiver red LED is inconsistent. On one unit the light is always on and blinks when receiving IR codes. On another unit the light is always off and blinks when receiving IR codes.
Poor experience
Pros: Small form factor and sports a 450W power supply.
Cons: I purchased with a E7200 CPU. That CPU is on the official support list. However, the unit shipped with an older BIOS so it is impossible to boot the unit. It hangs on the Splash screen. After swapping a E6700 temporarily, awdflash.exe from the website does not even work. As a last resort, I installed Vista to use the official winflash. That hung after a short time, corrupting the BIOS, and now it will not boot. All I can find is a tech support # in Taiwan. Very disappointed. Considering this poor experience, I may forgoe the proprietary Shuttle form factor in favor of something with better tech support.
Unstable
Pros: None.
Cons: Installed in Intel BOXD975XBXLKR "Bad Axe" motherboard with 975X chipset. Ran at 4-4-4-12 timing @ DDR2 800. No overclocking. After 3 months, the RAM started causing lockups and failed Memtest86+. After RMA, new RAM is causing locks/hangs. Replaced with CxxxAIR XMS2 - same timings. Rock solid. There seems to be a probelm with this RAM and my motherboard model.
