Excellent HDMI Cable

Rosewill Model RCDC-14029 - 3-Foot White Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 32 AWG, Male-to-Male
Rosewill Model RCDC-14029 - 3-Foot White Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 32 AWG, Male-to-Male

Pros: This is an excellent cable that's exactly as long as I needed it to be. Not too short and not too long. Excellent quality with well fitting connectors, and the price just can't be beat. I looked high and low for a short DP-to-HDMI cable, and this was the only one I found that was reasonably priced. It met all my expectations and works flawlessly.

Cons: No real cons. The only thing I'd prefer is for it to be black, but that's a very minor and easily overlooked issue, since I don't really see the cable. It just kind of blends in with everything else.

Overall Review: I purchased this cable for use with the Intel NUC NUC5i5RYH 'micro-computer' (see separate review) which has both HDMI and DP (DisplayPort) interfaces. I'd never used DP before and wanted to try it out, just to see what the quality was like. It's excellent and works great with my 27" BenQ monitor. The Intel NUC sits about 2 feet from my monitor aside from my mouse, it's the smallest thing on my desk, which is also very small. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cable to anyone who needs or wants a DP-to-HDMI adapter cable. Works like a champ at a GREAT price.

Good Case ... All Accessories NOT Included

LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very nice looking case. Compact yet spacious. Surprisingly good ventilation. Plenty of space for hard drives (up to six). VERY quiet fans. All aluminum, high quality construction. No sharp edges.

Cons: My only gripe with this case is that it did NOT come with all the accessories pictured. Show in the last picture (9 of 9) is a motherboard to two USB plugs adapter and a back-plane adapter with two slots to route cables in and out of the case. The only thing it came with is/was a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 motherboard adapter. Who in their right mind would have ANY use for such an adapter?!

Overall Review: One of the reasons I wanted this case was the motherboard adapter with two USB connectors on the end of it, and the backplane adapter with the two slots cut in it to router a pair of cables into/out of the case. Since it came with NEITHER adapter, well ... I'm sure you would agree if you wanted both those accessories that you'd be very dissapointed too. I was very tempted to box the case back up and ship it back, but I needed the case desperately for a client build. This is the THIRD Lian Li case I've purchased that DIDN'T come with everything pictured. While I'm a big fan of aluminum cases, I'll never buy another Lian Li case again.

Excellent CAT-5e cable

Coboc CY-CAT5E-14-BK 14ft.24AWG Snagless Cat 5e Black Color 350MHz UTP Ethernet Stranded Copper Patch cord /Molded Network lan Cable
Coboc CY-CAT5E-14-BK 14ft.24AWG Snagless Cat 5e Black Color 350MHz UTP Ethernet Stranded Copper Patch cord /Molded Network lan Cable

Pros: A high quality cable with excellent and well fitting connectors (they 'snap' right in). It really is 'snagless' and I have no idea how they do that. These cables work flawlessly and I'm astounded at how inexpensive they are. I haven't run any actual benchmarks to see if the throughput is any higher than a standard CAT-5 cable, but I really don't care whether it is or not. They just flat-out work and that's ALL I care about. These cables are somewhat 'heavy duty' and are extremely well made. They are not as stiff or as bulky as CAT-6 cable, but they are somewhat stiffer and thicker than a conventional CAT-5 cable. They FEEL (when you handle them) like high quality, heavy duty cables that will last forever.

Cons: NONE, NADA, ZIP

Overall Review: I bought this cable (14'), the 20', 50', 75' and 100' lengths (collect the whole set), for use when troubleshooting network issues at my client's homes. I also purchased the 7' and 10' versions for myself and for my girlfriend to connect to a network switch in our office to connect to our LAN. I cannot believe the price of these cables. Eleven bucks for a high quality 100' CAT-5e cable?! That's just insane and I can't believe they're making ANY money at all on these cables. I have two other 50' CAT-5 cables that the connector tabs broke on. I don't know why but that ALWAYS seems to happen with long cables. I'm hoping these new Coboc cables have better quality connectors on them that WON'T break so easily. If one does, I'll post another review. So far though, these cables are exceeding my expectations, in terms of quality and function. HIGHLY recommended.

Outstanding HDMI Cable

FORSPARK 6ft 4K-HDMI 2.0 Ultra Premium High Speed HDMI Cable 26AWG with Ethernet,Support 3D 4K 1080P for Apple TV-3D Gaming,Xbox,PS3
FORSPARK 6ft 4K-HDMI 2.0 Ultra Premium High Speed HDMI Cable 26AWG with Ethernet,Support 3D 4K 1080P for Apple TV-3D Gaming,Xbox,PS3

Pros: Very high quality cable. Works flawlessly. A true bargain in the high quality cable market. Very high quality protective braiding over the entire length of the cable. 24-carat gold plated connectors. Shielded cable. Just the right amount of stiffness. I purchased 5 of these cables for use with computers and with my TV. VERY high quality cables. I really like the brading. They just reek of quality and great craftsmanship. Obviously, they all work flawlessly and the pictures they produce on three different BenQ 27" monitors and my 60" LG Plasma TV are jaw-dropping. Just beautiful. I hate flimsy cables. A flimsy cable tells me that there's no shielding in it, which is never a good thing. These cable are shielded and while not super stiff, they obviously are just a little stiff. That's okay though. I'd rather have slightly stiff cables WITH shielding than a flimsy cable with no shielding at all. I WILL be buying several more of these cables to connect more devices to my TV and replace the stock cables those devices came with. You really cannot beat these cables, and for the money, they are a TRUE bargain.

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: I was a little skeptical of these cables, considering how inexpensive they are. That said, I could not be happier with these HDMI cables. I wasn't expecting them to be of such high quality (hard to tell from the pictures), but they are VERY high quality cables made from high quality components. Highly recommended.

ASRock ROCKS!

ASRock Z97 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z97 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: There are SO many great things about this motherboard that it's difficult to point them all out. For starters though - 1 - Overclocking Options (quick and easy overclocking) 2 - Stability (VERY stable) 3 - Features (numerous) 4 - Expandability (10 SATA Ports!) 5 - Easy Installation, Setup and Configuration 6 - BIOS Features (TONS) 7 - FAST I have NOT experienced the power issues that some have reported, so I have no idea what that's all about. it's been up and running now for about 2 months, and I've unplugged the power from it several times, to move it, add more hard drives, RAM, a sound card, etc. IF the power issue ever pops up, I'll post another review. So far, I couldn't be happier with my build (see parts list below).

Cons: Does not take out the trash. Other than that, nothing, nada, zip.

Overall Review: The Z97 Extreme6 is THE most feature rich motherboard I've ever come across. My intentions were to use it as the basis for a file server, running Ubuntu Server, but when I discovered how FAST and STABLE this motherboard is, I turned it into a file server AND a gaming system. Here's the parts list - ASRock Z97 Extreme6 Intel i7-4790K @ 4.75 GHz (rock solid and super stable) GELID Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Compound CORSAIR Hydro Series H90 140mm Water Cooler (dual fan - push/pull) G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (total) DDR3 2133 MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G Golden Edition Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe sound card SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB (Boot Drive C:\) SAMSUNG 840 EVO 500GB (Games Drive D:\) (to be replaced with an 850) Rosewill RX-C200P 2.5" SSD / HDD adapter for 3.5" Drive Bay (for the SSDs) WD SE WD2000F9YZ 2TB 7200 RPM Enterprise HD (X5 - 10 TB total) EVGA SuperNOVA 750 Gold Certified - Fully Modular Power Supply LG Black 16X SATA Blu-ray Burner Fractal Design Define R4 w/ Window - Black Pearl COUGAR CF-V14HB Vortex Fluid-Bearing Case Fans (X6) NZXT 6-Channel Fan Controller BenQ Gaming XL2720Z Black 27" (144 Hz Vertical Refresh Rate) ANKER Precision Gaming Mouse Perixx PX-1100 keyboard Monsoon 4.1 MM-2000 Flat Panel (electrostatic) Speakers By the way, the Monsoon MM-2000 speakers (340 WATTS total) jackhammer every other desktop speaker ever made. I bought mine in 2001 when they first came out, and they've been kicking ever since. IF you can find a used pair, BUY THEM! For starters, I was able to overclock the i7-4790K to 4.85 GHz, and it was rock stable under ALL conditions (benchmarks, gaming, you name it). It ran a little warmer than I'm comfortable with, so I cranked it back down to 4.75 GHz. At that speed, all four cores run at around 24-26 C during normal use. Under load, it jumps up into the LOW 40's. I did update the BIOS before attempting any overclocking, which may or may not have made a difference in stability. I probably could have gotten close to 5.0 GHz on my particular 4790K, but I didn't want to push it too hard. The Fractal R4 case is THE perfect case for anyone requiring lots of expansion (many hard drives, in particular). The H90 radiator with dual fans in a push/pull configuration fits perfectly in the rear of the case, and I could not have hoped for better cooling. I'm sure the GELID thermal compound has something to do with the VERY low core temperatures I'm seeing, but regardless, the combination of ALL these components resulted in THE best cooling and performance I've personally ever seen. I've probably built upwards of 60+ computers, for myself and for clients, so this wasn't my first build, by a long shot. I did a LOT of research on every component I selected, and while I could care less about what reviewers say about my selections, although I did take a few of them into consideration. That's mostly why I'm writing this review. No matter WHAT anyone else says or thinks about, this

Outstanding Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson DC50 Animal Upright Vacuum w/ Tangle Free Tool
Dyson DC50 Animal Upright Vacuum w/ Tangle Free Tool

Pros: Very light weight, self adjusting head height, minimal effort expended to push/pull it around, cleans much better than my high-priced Oreck, not to mention that the DC50 is MUCH easier to vacuum with. I also really like the attachments, the fact that I'll never have to buy another bag, and that it's SO simple to empty it into the garbage disposal. A superb piece of machinery.

Cons: Zero. None. Nada. Zip.

Overall Review: We have a big house and other than the kitchen and bathrooms, the entire house is carpeted. With the Oreck vacuum, my shoulders would start to hurt almost immediately, and by the time I was finished, they were so sore that they would ache for three days afterwards. The Dyson DC50 is about the same weight as the Oreck, but the amount of effort expended to push/pull it around the house is next to nothing. I have NO aches or pains when I'm finished vacuuming the ENTIRE house, and I DON'T have to take any breaks to try and make it through what with the Oreck, was truly an ordeal. I REALLY love the self-adjusting head. I works like a champ and literally takes ALL the effort out of pushing the vacuum under and/or around objects. It literally glides over carpet and on hard floors, it's like it's not even there (ZERO effort all the time). We have four cats and they truly produce mountains of hair that gets onto everything, but especially onto the carpeted floor. Before plugging in the DC50, I used the Oreck on the living room and THOUGHT I'd done a pretty good job. After letting my shoulders recover for an hour or so, I plugged in the DC50 and when I was done, I could not believe the amount of fur that thing sucked up off the carpet! It was truly staggering. It's like a self-contained tornado. I was a little skeptical too about ordering a "refurbished" vacuum cleaner, but given the *new* price of $450, I just couldn't afford to spend much more than the refurbed unit cost me. So, I went for it and am I GLAD I did. While I can't speak for the condition of one YOU might purchase, my DC50 is in exceptionally good condition and looks like it was only lightly used. Five BIG Stars and I would recommend the DC50 to ANYONE with furry pets. You'll be amazed how little effort it takes to turn what is normally a workout into a walk in the park. Good stuff.

Junk. Don't waste your money.

Took over a month to arrive from China. Does not work. Put four brand new Duracell batteries in it and it does nothing whatsoever. The display lights up, but the unit does nothing. Junk. Don't buy.

Headlamp Review

This is an update to I previously post where I rated the seller (terrible). This is a review on the headlamp. It's GREAT and works like a champ. It came with two batteries installed, but no charger. I knew it didn't come with a charger, so I ordered one on another site. They're cheap (like 16 bucks) and it came with 4 batteries. The batteries are VERY slow to charge but like most lithium ion batteries, the charges lasts a VERY long time. The headlamp puts out a HUGE beam and illuminates the area you're pointing your head at in crystal clear light. I ordered it for working on computers when I DON'T have a third hand, which is more often than not. It's also very adjustable and relatively comfortable to wear. All things considered, I can highly recommend the headlamp but NOT the seller. Also, be aware BEFORE you order it that it does NOT come with a charger. Just look elsewhere to see if you can find it from a different seller.
