Year after review
Pros: Has been a great board, no trouble with ram timings, or anything else for that matter. Been running a pretty power hungry setup for over a year now and no failures like some people.
Cons: The only con I have is aisuite will not work after installing a new bios, wish I never had now. I had no real reason to, but I figured I would and now (even after reverting and trying every new bios since then) aisuite just will not work correctly. Annoying because I would like to take advantage of the power saving features.
Overall Review: Been pushing a 9800GX2, 4GB ddr2 pc2-6400 ram, 3 HDDs(640GB, 250GB, 60GB), Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 ghz for over a year and still hasn't failed , even with daily gaming sessions (4-5 hours daily) in fairly graphical intensive games(cod5, css, l4d, tf2, crysis) and plenty of single player games in between. Highly recommend this board.
Bad is the best way to describe it
Pros: Good cable lengths. Price had it actually worked
Cons: Like so many other reviewers on here caused a reboot whenever a high power requirement was needed (gaming, benchmarking etc). Without a fail the instant I started an OCCT test or began to play TF2 it would instantly freeze and/or reboot. Seemed to be okay on the desktop, but for the system it was running 750 W should be nearly 200W over the requirements. One of the PCI slots quit working after attempting to use this psu (an upgrade on the same board from a dual core cpu, so I know it was working before). Luckily the sound card that was in it wasn't damaged and there were other free slots.
Overall Review: ASUS m4a77d EVGA geforce gtx 260 4GB G.skill 1066 @ 6-6-6-18 500GB HDD Phenom II x4 945 There is no reason the psu should have caused this issue since the system requires 600 W max (565 W peak by most estimates). I don't want to hear any responses saying it must be incompatibility issues with the mobo, or its rated to be 750 W, because frankly those are just lies because it definitely wont run this mid range system and I'm not the only one having the same problems. I don't know why they even both to post on reviews when they aren't helpful and are just making excuses (I don't care if it SUPPOSED to be tested to work at 750 W when it wont work at much less). Either they are knowingly making products below the rated specs, or their QA is just really bad, either way I will never buy from them again. Bought a Corsair TX750v2 and have had zero issues since, and it was only 25 dollars more after rebate.
It has the power!!
Pros: -This card runs every game that I play with max settings -runs quiet and cool -simplistic but sexy design
Cons: -Honeslty can't think of any -maybe the price? but you get what you pay for -no rgb, which I could care less about, but might matter to some people. -the support bracket seems a bit wonky, but I was able to get it to work
Overall Review: -I purchased this card because I recently acquired a 3440 x 1440P monitor and my old 8GB card just wasn't cutting it. -This thing runs everything with max settings and doesn't even seem to break a sweat. -This is my first AMD gpu, and I was nervous about driver issues. So far, everything has been great. The software is actually easier to navigate than the geforce alternative.
Great Sound Quality!
Pros: Been using this sound card for a little over a day now and I can't believe how much of an improvement there was over my onboard audio (asus supremefx II). Everything is amazingly clear(no static or buzzing like other have mentioned whatsoever) and my games sound completely different. Bad company 2 is so different it almost makes it feel new again (the gun sounds and explosions are incredible sounding now). I had no trouble installing the driver's for windows 7 x64 (i got the ones off the site, didn't even bother with the disk that came with it). Overall for the price and the features, this card blew me away with how much it improved the sound quality in everything from music to gaming.
Cons: none, but dts support would be nice(although I have no need for it at the moment).
Overall Review: I guess the drivers have gotten better because I have had no issues at all so far with x64 windows 7. The eq is fairly customizable and I played with it for far too long to get the settings I wanted :P. Can't wait till I'm on vent next time to try out the voice modification abilities (just for s & gs). I like the fact that features can be added via software due to it not being limited by an in house api (ala other major card makes not to be mentioned). Makes eax work great in games without the need for extra software on top of everything. Great card so far, asus continues to make great products, and I will continue to buy motherboards and the like from them.
Good Cooler
Pros: I've had the cooler for about 3 weeks now and it has done great so far. My 17" laptop fits perfectly on it, and keeps it noticeably cooler. The internal fans rarely run while using the cooler. As far as noise goes, it is quieter than the notebook's fans so that is always a plus.
Cons: none
Good Mousepad
Pros: HUGE Surface. Thought the medium would be small enough, but really I wish they made a small size!. Not a big deal since I have a good size desk, but could be a problem for some. As far as the surface goes, I love cloth pads, and this one seems very durable, and has already survived being rolled and never has any problem going flat again. My 2500 dpi laser mouse has no problems as far as detection goes and plays great in games such as cs:s etc.
Cons: Size might be a little big for some.
