HP Rocks
Pros: - LCD screen is amazing, very bright and clear with multiple levels of dimming - Speakers are great, very loud and good bass response for a laptop - Blu Ray and eSata plus plenty of usb ports and a firewire port/ media card reader - Two hard drive slots! It would be nice to use a SSD as primary and the 640GB as extra storage - Little bloatware preloaded - Glossy finish and graphics look beautiful
Cons: - 5400RPM hard drive may be slowing things down a tad - The left back corner gets a bit warm because it has the only two fan exhausts. Setting it on your lap you may feel the warmth on your leg. - Webcam could be higher resolution - Fingerprints on the glossy finish/ trackpad
Overall Review: Overall this is a wonderful laptop. My previous HP lasted 6 years and this one looks like it will too. The i7 720QM processor is super fast, I haven't been able to max it out yet. Even though the hard drive is 5400rpm everything still loads very fast and it should be enough for most people. Having that second drive bay is wonderful since you can upgrade to a SSD for the OS and have the other hard drive for large storage space. I'm very happy with this machine and would definitely recommend HP to anyone.
Clicking after a few months
Pros: Good speeds, quiet, cheap
Cons: Clicking developed after a few months of use, not reliable
Overall Review: I had this hard drive installed on my HP laptop for a couple months and it recently started making a random clicking noise. Hard drive did not fail, but clicking got more frequent. Sounded like the drive could crash at any moment. I replaced it as a precaution after reading some of these other reviews. Beware this drive may not be very reliable.
Very cool! Works like it should.
Pros: Fairly bight light. Easy to use, just plugged it in and it was already working, nothing to set up. Music feature is great. The remote works good too..
Cons: The remote is IR so it needs line of sight to operate.. that means you can't use in in an enclosed lamp or one that is at a high level facing upwards. The front lens is actually receiving the IR signal, it would have been better if they had also used another sensor underneath.
Overall Review: Overall, this thing is pretty cool. The music feature is by far the best, it goes to the beat of the song!
Perfect Drive
Pros: Excellent speeds, very quiet, large storage space
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Bought this drive to replace a failing seagate momentus, so far its been perfect. Imaged my entire disk onto it and everything works fine. Very quiet and great speeds due to the 7200 rpm.
Great little mp3 player!
Pros: - Small and lightweight - Great sound with configurable equalizer - Battery life is incredible (can go for about 20 - 25 hours or more) - New firmware allows for fast wheel scrolling if you have lots of songs - Upgradeable memory using MicroSD
Cons: - Creating playlists may be difficult. Using WMP is one way, other software may provide better solutions - If you use the MicroSD slot, you will have two devices to load music onto. This can be frustrating keeping track of what songs are on which and you could end up with duplicates - You must convert videos using the Sansa software
Overall Review: This is a cool little player. The best thing about it is the battery life, like I said I probably average 20 hours easily. It's great that its small and very portable and the sound is wonderful. The only downside is playlist creation can be a hassle and if you expand the memory uysing MicroSD then that can be difficult to keep music organized on it.
