best bang for the buck

Intel Core i3-4160 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.6 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34160
Intel Core i3-4160 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.6 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34160

Pros: ive had both i5s and i3s and the difference if your not rendering or video editing, the i3 will be plenty and then some, bench marks by austin evens and linus and many more show that the i3 is only slower in synthetic benchmarks (or in the margin or error) and areas of those who probably dont use or care. The only way the i5 will show a advantage is with a gpu thats average even enthuasiats may not want to buy, long story short i prefer the i3 beacuase ive owned it before and just love every aspect about it. if you're on the fence, just take the plunge and dont look back.

Cons: like any intel chip is the sub par cooler. i personally think intel should include the cooler that came with 980 extreme chips.

Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel
Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: it was cheap, shipped at 35 dollars

Cons: well were do i start, its cramped for a atx board, it has absolutelys no cable management, none what so ever. the hard drive slots are placed inconveniently making it tough to remove them with hitting your gpu or taking it out all together. and the front panel usb cord are not long enough to reach my motherboard, not a big deal, but i didnt like it. and the plates in the back for your gpu and or wifi carb have to be broken out, cannot be put back together.

i like it.

PNY GTX 900 GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card VCGGTX9602XPB
PNY GTX 900 GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card VCGGTX9602XPB

Pros: During the release of gta v my current card at the time was a r9 270x was fine up until it started artifacting and overheating, i needed a replacement and saw this card at 179.99 with a free game i decided to look into the 960 series. upon reading i learned this card has a 10% improvement over the 760 which is better than my 270x. so for the lower price and power consumption of my previous card, i jumped and bought it. came packaged very well. lots of accessories, one of which is totally useless because the card doesn't have a mini HDMI, unless i'm missing something. gaming wise it was a huge jump in gta v from 40fps to closer to 60fps with a few more settings turned up.

Cons: was disappointed to learn this gpus fan stays on, unlike the higher priced cards which wont spin up tell 61c. its the loudest component in my system, i can hear it over my noctua fans. but that's not why i'm taking an egg away, its because of the fan software not implemented on the card it self. the card is still extremely quiet. barley audible.

horriable

Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 CC-9011070-WW Black Steel Micro ATX / Mini-ITX Air 240 High Airflow MicroATX and Mini-ITX PC Case
Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 CC-9011070-WW Black Steel Micro ATX / Mini-ITX Air 240 High Airflow MicroATX and Mini-ITX PC Case

Pros: its cute

Cons: where do i start? well like every review said the panel came scratched and well it did. the other panel with cables pushed the side panel out and bent the **** out of it and would not sit flush at all. the top fan that came with the case had a bad bearing and screeched of and on. the gpu bracket sucks, i had to wriggle and wiggle and move my gpu all about to even get the gpu to fit, and one it was secured with power i couldnt get the window panel back on, not even close, i tried and it was close to breaking my motherboard, overall i hate hate this case. now im not a picky man but this case just did not work for me in any way what soever. and i love corsair with alot of passion. this was a disappointment.

really darn good!

MSI B85M-G43 LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX High Performance CF Intel Motherboard
MSI B85M-G43 LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX High Performance CF Intel Motherboard

Pros: extremely stable, great color scheme, 4 dimms slots, 2 pci express slots. right angled sata and USB 3.0 connectors. overall i love this board, I've used it like 4 times and haven't had a single issue. will not hesitate to use it again.

Cons: the dimm slots are fairly close to the gpu so they limit your gpu choice a little bit, like if you gpu has a little extra on the top side, only 3 4 pin fan connectors, why not 4 or five? why no eight pin? if it supports a i7 it should have a 8 pin so it doesn't throttle.

dad loves it

Intel Core i3-4150 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34150
Intel Core i3-4150 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34150

Pros: he needed a better pc than aio he tried, so i built him on with this cpu with its intel hd 4400 graphics. so he can browse the web with more than one tab or program running, does well enough for web browsing that you wont need to a dedicated gpu for the extra horsepower.

Cons: hot
