Pros: Big fan, easy to set up, power button on front, solidly built.

Cons: Fan produces an audible hum but keeps the hard drive very cool. Fan stopped working after about 50 total hours of use.

Overall Review: I purchased this enclosure about 6 months ago and installed a 500gb hard drive. It was very easy to set up. I have a different external enclosure I also purchased from Newegg which has a quieter fan but this Apricorn pushes more air through the vents. The build quality seems much better on this Apricorn. One big advantage on this enclosure is that the drive is actually mounted to the aluminum case, which takes advantage of the cooling quality of the aluminum. The other brand uses an internal plastic tray so the drive never touches the aluminum case. The button on the front is also very easy to use. The only problem I've had so far is with the fan. Out of the box, it produced a slight hum but I expected it for the amount of air it moves through the case. Unfortunately, one day I turned it on and it started making a loud rattling sound and then stopped working after a few minutes. Hopefully this is an isolated problem.
