Solid Case

APEVIA X-CRUISER-YL Yellow Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
APEVIA X-CRUISER-YL Yellow Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Mobo tray is handy. Front side comes off very easily; back side comes off easily as well, convenient. Case door seems very well-built, closes securely and not hard to open. Front face of the case removes easily once you realize you have to take out the four screws holding it in place (pebkac) - easy to install front fans even with cables still connected. While not as cool as the bright yellow the first pic depicts, I still like the goldenrod-ish color of the case. Front gauges work well, as does fan speed dial. All my parts fit just fine in the case. Great deal for the price.

Cons: Front fan slot size is 2x80mm (side by side), not 120mm like it appears to be from a front shot of the box. While not clarified on Newegg, Apevia's site does specify. I just didn't check until after I bought it (pebkac again). I wish the front ports (audio, usb, etc) were at the top of the box, not the bottom, but that's not a big deal. Side air duct attachment is too large to fit with my gigantic heatsink -- wish there was a thinner attachment to fill that hole on the case. The metal between the expansion slots in the back seems a bit flimsy -- bent easily while removing the temp guards (bent it right back np).

Overall Review: APEVIA X-CRUISER case, ASUS P5N72-T Premium, E8400 (OC), ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro, 2x (SLI) XFX PVT98FYDDU GeForce 9800 GTX (OC), G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), LG GH20NS10 DVD Burner combo optical drive (SATA), WD WD6400AAKS 640GB HDD (SATA), HIPER HFF-1B12S 120mm fan in the back, 2x 80mm case fans it came with in the front, generic 80mm case fan up top. Vista Business 64bit SP1. Would recommend this case to a friend.

Best mouse on the market

Logitech Gray Wired TrackMan Wheel Mouse
Logitech Gray Wired TrackMan Wheel Mouse

Pros: Ergonomic, comfortable, and extremely durable.

Cons: The rubber feet wore off after a year or two. I wish it had extra buttons for gaming.

Overall Review: I've been using this mouse rigorously (gaming) for over 6 years and I've had not a single reasonable complaint. The buttons are just as responsive as the day i purchased it. Dirt will accumulate on the ball rollers, but the trackball can be removed and a quick 10 seconds will clean off the rollers to perfect performance. This being said, I constantly travel with it and pack it in various bags, and I've not once had an issue losing the ball in travel. You simply will not find a better trackball device on the market today, -especially- for the price.

Not nearly as bad as they say

ASUS P5N72-T Premium LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5N72-T Premium LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Note that at time of post I'm updated to BIOS 0502 (updating BIOS fixed a number of initial problems) -- the new BIOS is probably the best I've ever worked with in terms of flexibility and ease-of-use. My setup is listed below, and I had no trouble whatsoever fitting all this on the mobo; I thought the board layout was very nice. I have two SATA drives on the same 'column' just as mentioned a few posts back, and I had no problems with that at all. This board is -amazing- for overclocking. I have little experience with OC'ing and I was able to learn easily with this board. The BIOS will let you overclock your CPU and Memory bus speeds (linked or individually) in 1MHz increments - very fine tuning! You can also precisely set any memory timing setting you can imagine (I'm no memory buff so I don't mess with anything other than CAS, tRCD, tRP, and tRAS - there are half a dozen other settings too). Two 9800gtx in SLI is working great.

Cons: I would get BSOD'd whenever I enabled the SLI memory setting to read my DDR2 1066 memory at 1066; I had to disable the setting and let it detect the memory at 800MHz instead. However, I haven't yet been able to pin this on the mobo or the memory. Regardless, with my linked overclocked e8400 cpu @ 3.8GHz (for now, aiming higher), the clock rate on the memory is already over 1000MHz, so it's practically up to the stock speed anyway. The only source of any BSODs I've gotten with this board (granted it has only been 2 weeks) were memory related, and I haven't gotten any since I turned down the clock on the memory to 800 base and overclocked from there.

Overall Review: Wow, I'm really amazed how many awfully critical reviews this board has gotten. Don't get me wrong this thing isn't perfect, but its packed with features. Everything (spare my memory issue) just worked like it was supposed to. Maybe I just got lucky, but I'd recommend this board for an SLI setup.
