Media Center PC? This is what you want!
Pros: -The range on this setup is amazing! I'm a good 15-20 feet away from the receiver and I haven't had one problem, it's totally solid, I could probably even game on this if I wanted to. -Good quality product/materials, feels very solid, looks nice! -True plug and play, I literally plugged it in and it worked. -For only 40 bones with free shipping I couldn't be happier!
Cons: As someone mentioned earlier it doesn't have any lights on the keyboard, but for me that's a plus not a con as it just sucks the batteries dry to have a caps lock/num lock light on all the time anyway.
Overall Review: If the need arose I'd totally buy another another one of these sets, although probably in black and not white. I'm using this for my media center PC and I can now sit in my recliner all day if I want to. =D Media Center PC: Windows XP Pro 32-bit AMD Athlon 2.0ghz 2GB DDR RAM 120GB Maxtor HD Nvidia 6600 AGP 350W PS DVD-R, etc. Main PC: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit AMD Athlon X2 3.2ghz 4GB DDR2 Hyperx RAM (Dual Channel) 500GB Seagate SATA HD XFX ATI 4850 512MB Dual DVD-R 550W Antec PS w/modular cabling 2nd PC: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit AMD Athlon x2 2.8ghz Black Edition (Kuma) 4GB DDR2 HyperX RAM (Dual Channel) 250GB Seagate SATA HD Nvidia 8600GT 1GB Dual DVD-R 500W Antec PS
Junk. Don't bother.
Pros: It looks nice, has semi-modular cabling and a button to turn the light off in it.
Cons: Failed hard within the first hour of using it. I smelled something burning then my entire PC just shut down. I check out the PSU and it was hot enough to cook eggs on and stunk like burnt plastic. I let it cool off a bit then turned it back on, it fired back up but the fan in it was totally dead, thus causing the overheat and fail. I was a little peeved considering I just put a new Radeon 7950 in there was about to go ballistic if it had fried it but it was fine once I put my old Antec 550W back in there.
Overall Review: I think the main problem with this power supply is it's horribly cheap fan in it. It's too bad too because had they spent a few more pennies on the fan I think it would have been an ok power supply. Do yourself a favor and just buy something more reliable, I'm out $12 for return shipping to get my refund on this dud.
Revive that old laptop!
Pros: Regular 2.5" size drive that will fit any laptop with SATA type connections. Super fast! This laptop was borderline unusable with it's 5400 RPM traditional drive in it running Windows 7 Pro. After replacing the stock hard drive with this and pairing it a Mushkin RAM upgrade (from 1.5GB up to 3GB RAM) it's faster than it was the day it was brand new! AMAZING!
Cons: None, literally I can't think of any.
Overall Review: If you've been wondering if you really can revive that old laptop even running an old 1.8Ghz dual core, you can! And it will be faster than it ever was before. I was doubtful but thought I'd give it a try and it was worth every penny. I'll be reviving a few other laptops soon with this same drive.
Quiet!
Pros: Very quiet fans, if decent airflow with low noise at a decent price is what you want, these babies do just that. I run 5 of these in my case and my CPU and video card fans are louder.
Cons: Some of the stickers have come off when the fans heat up. Not a big deal to me personally.
Overall Review: Of the 10 of these I've bought all were perfect except for one which made a rubbing noise but I moved it to a horizontally oriented slot instead of vertical and the sound went away. So 10/10 have been good and are trucking away nice and quiet.
Really fast!
Pros: I love this thing, formatted it with NTFS and can get large files to transfer at 60-70MB steadily on a USB 3.0 connection. Aluminum case is nice, makes it feel sturdy and high end.
Cons: Gets pretty warm while transferring large files but not hot enough to burn ya so not really a con.
Overall Review: I'd buy another one of these, hope it lasts a long time, I'd be sad if it died. I can't go back to USB 2.0 now! =D
Awesome, cheap, Antec, case.
Pros: It looks really nice and is well made for being a low-end case. I prefer bottom mount cases but this one isn't bad at all being a top mount and everything fit perfectly.
Cons: None that I could find other than no USB 3.0 front header, but what do ya expect for a $30 case.
Overall Review: If I need another cheap case with no power supply this will be the one I buy. I was actually a little sad when I gave this one away.
Lowest Priced 2TB
The original drive I received was DOA but a few e-mails later I had an RMA#. They paid the return shipping and I sent the drive back then had a new one sent to me in about a week later. The new one works perfectly. Pretty smooth transaction overall, everything considered, I'd buy another.
All good!
This RAM worked fine in a DDR2 gen board with no problems. It's actually Kingston RAM that isn't labeled so I knew it would be good stuff. Fast shipping and no problems at all.
