does it come with ink?

Like manyother printers, it comes with introductory sized ink cartridges. They will get you started, but not last more than maybe 100 pages. I don't have an actual count, so that's a guestimate. Replacements are available in standard and high capacity sizes. Usually the high capacity are better buys.

Does this printer have a tray for output paper?

No, it doesn't. There is a "door" on the output side, and it has an addition 3 x 6 inch "flap" to partially support the page, but I wouldn't trust them if the printer wasn't sitting on a table. No tray on the input side, either. You place the paper vertically against the black plastic support, no more than about 40-50 sheets at a a time.

How big is the unit and how much does it weigh? I need it for travel use.

I would say that it is too heavy to lug around. It's about a foot and a half by a foot and a half.

What cable should I order to go with this? There is no cable included.

If you have WIFI use that so that you do not need a cable. If you do need a cable it is a standard USB printer cable which I believe is called USB-A (connects to pc) to USB-B (shapped like the letter D.

Without the black paper support, the printer is 12.5 cm (5 in) high.

WHAT SIZE IS THE INK CARTRIDGE?

I use the HP61XL or HP61 cartridges.

will this work with windows xp with intel celeron 1.50 ghz and 256 mb of ram and 1.0 usb drives?

Yes it will work with windows xp they do not give a ram requirement so the utilities may not work but as far as printing it should work fine
