based on reviews of similar laptops, should I expect battery issues?

i have zero problems with my battery. i can run it 4-8 hours. depending if i am playing games or not. side note: i did need to purchase a separate external cooling fan.

Should I worry about the battery life?

no. 4-6depending if your gaming.

Does this have a built-in microphone?

yes. works ok. the speakers are really really bad. you will need to get external speakers.
