Question 1

Is this a finger-touch device, or is there a stylus needed/included?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can use your finger. (This monitor has a capacitive touch screen, like an iPhone.)

Question 2

My PC older windows 10. Will the usb 3 hub work on it?

Accepted Answer

Went through 3 touch screens before this one and it is soooo much more responsive! But to your question: USB seems to work with my USB3 flash drive when the PC ran Window 7 and when I upgraded it to Windows 10. however, USB3 devices usually are backwards compatible at slower speeds so just because mine worked, I don't know if it worked at full USB3 speed. Also, many devices (including USB2) hate hubs in general and have to go directly into the back of my PC.

Question 3

Will this screen work ok in portrait mode?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it definitely does. I own a photo booth and the aluminum shell is in a vertical position. The touch screen monitor will work in a vertical position but you will need to go into the display settings to set it in vertical. When you first plug it in the monitor will go to a horizontal position as default. When you switch it into vertical, some of the icons will be sized differently to fit the aspect ratio.

If you are talking about the mount it sits on then no it does not. You will have to buy a separate mount. I removed the mount on order to fit inside my aluminum photo booth shell.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, contact Planar directly because they know their products better than a consumer like you and I.

Question 4

What is the weight of this monitor? Thanks.

Accepted Answer

the specs show that with base it weighs 14.6 lbs; without base 9.5 lbs

Question 5

I have a three monitor set up where they are mounted on a single stand. I want this one to be my center ( home) screen. Can the stand be removed and mounted and will it work with multi screen?

Accepted Answer

The stand is removed very easily and any vesa compatible arm can be attached. I have it center in portrait mode with two other monitors on each side. Your OS and video cards handle spanning the deskop to all three.

Question 6

Is there a pen that can be used with this monitor (not a stylus, more like a Surface Pen)?

Accepted Answer

I don't know

Question 7

Does the touch feature with the latest Mac OS?

Accepted Answer

Hello Matt. Newegg sent me your message to answer your question because I have recently purchased this monitor a few months ago. I can't really answer your question because I bought it for my Windows computer. I also own a Mac. In reality, a monitor is a monitor. However, you will need to buy the special Thunderbolt adapter. The adapter essential is an DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, and VGA for Mac. Simply put it, Apple wants to make money with a special adapter to work with any of these ports. You can buy these adaptes online anywhere. Just make sure you have a return policy if the adaptor does not work. As for the touch screen feature of this monitor, that's something you will need to call Planar. You may need to install a driver in order for the monitor to communicate with your Mac. I will tell you that I am very happy with the monitor and I would buy another one again in the future. Just make sure through Planar before you buy it for your mak. I hope this helps you out. :)
