Highly Reflective Screen 10/28/2019 8:47:51 AM

Pros: Working quite well.

Cons: This monitor is very reflective. Any small light in the surround result in reflection which make it hard to focus on the image.
It get into black for few seconds after few minutes from it is on.

Overall Review: Disappointing screen.
Buy it if you need a mirror.

Reasonable for the price, works fine. 7/23/2017 8:46:19 AM

Pros: This is my first touch screen monitor so I'm fascinated with touching the screen and how futuristic it is. I needed this for doing video work for events and the software UI works well with a touch panel. Also the angled stand works great for standing at a table / desk.
-I actually like the glossy smart phone type of screen it has.
-Color and brightness seems pretty good for the price.
-The stand works well. It has a pretty ridged spring in it though.
-Touch sensitivity seems to be as good as my LG V20 cell phone. The panel responds well even up to the very edge of the screen.
-Has speakers, they're not great but not bad either but the fact it has anything and they work is a positive.
-The size is perfect for travel. It folds flat 1.5". Perfect for sliding into a bag.
-The weight is also perfect, it's one of the lightest panels out there! Great for mobility and flying with.
-Takes HDMI and DP
-It looks fairly professional / kinda wish they wouldn't put the parrot logo on the front. The red ViewSonic text looks better. /minorgripe
-IPS and it makes sense for a monitor that tilts back like this one.

Cons: -IPS = 60Hz but it's ok for what it's designed for and the asking price.
-The shielding that hides the monitors IO connectors on the back for the HDMI and DP are absolutely horrendous. The effort it takes to pry these things off warps the bezel and there is no way to connect your cables unless they are removed. every. time.. I have to now hold the bezel together to keep it from further separating during the process of removing the plates. I mean this is stupid and almost an egg deduction. If I could give it half a egg off I would.
-The monitor seems to prefer detecting the HDMI before a DP. Meaning sometimes it will say no signal if you have only a DP cable connected to it. Maybe it's my 780 gtx gpu I'm using atm. But that sorta is annoying to trouble shoot. It does work after some tinkering.
-Doesn't come with a DP cable. Only a Short HDMI cable and a useless male to male 3mm headphone jack cable.

Panel is fine, responsive touch screen. Sub par quality control 12/1/2016 11:12:22 AM

Pros: Panel looks just fine
Responsive Touchscreen
The stand is recessed in the back of the panel, a big plus for me.

Cons: First unit I was sent had a broken HDMI port on it
Second unit had no HDMI at all!! blows my mind that QC would pass something that's not even the same unit as described.

Overall Review: Buy at your own risk, like I said the unit is fine if you get a good one. Not in my case. Maybe the third times a charm?

Warning: shiny screen 12/9/2013 11:10:39 AM

Pros: Single-point touch works quite well in Linux. It also works when used as part of a multi-monitor array once you've configured the xinput device with the right coordinate transformation matrix.

Cons: The glossy finish gave me headaches until I bought an expensive anti-glare film. Now the viewing angle has suffered somewhat when compared to the inexpensive matte-finish monitor next to it. This is a disappointing result for a touch-screen technology whose main benefit is that it doesn't require extra layers of film on top of the display surface.

Another problem with the glossy finish is that the finger doesn't glide along the surface very smoothly. Anti-glare film fixes that, too.

Screen-touching registers when your finger or pointing object is roughly a millimeter from the display surface. This takes a little getting used to, because of unexpected results while pressing or releasing.

Overall Review: Unless you're a fan of glossy screens, plan to spend money and time for an anti-glare film to stick to the surface. It is difficult to apply a filter to such a large screen even with an abundance of caution and patience.

Can we start listing glossy/matte finish in product specifications, please?

Optical touch, Great starter for touch input 6/27/2013 9:43:51 PM

Pros: Decent monitor, at least average display
Touch capable

> Because this monitor is optical, it is way cheaper than capacitive monitors, and works very similarly. It is a durable and versatile monitor that is a great choice for anyone new to touch input. It works perfectly with navigating Windows 8's start screen and plays solitaire like a champ. Just remember to clear a space to put it in arms reach, I made the mistake of putting it where my old monitor rested... A full arms reach away from where I sit.

> The optical touch technology allows for basically anything to trigger a touch, unlike a capacitive screen. You can use a sock, a pencil (not well advised), your tounge (also not well advised, not unless it's clean anyways). Anything that approaches the screen that is too small, however, won't be registered by the optics unless it's near the center.
I opted for an old thin glow stick as my sort of "magic wand", since it is thick enough to touch on all parts of the screen and the smooth plastic gives little friction.

Cons: Optical touch
Large bezel
Soft keys on bezel

> My main complaint comes from the large bezel, I assume also a result of it being optical. Using Windows 8 is a real hassle because I can't use the corners or swipe from the sides very easily.

> It is also a tad inaccurate around the edges, and very much so on the top, not helping the fact I can't even get my finger immediately close enough to them. It is very difficult to close tabs in my web browser this way.

> The soft keys can be troublesome when the screen is in use by a friend or younger relative who aren't so nimble with their hands. A glance of the finger and the OSD appears.

> As I stated above, optical makes the touch input versatile, but it can also be a nightmare. Every once in a while, a wee little bug wanders into my room looking for some warmth, and lands on my screen. Suddenly, clicks ahoy! The bug is small enough it seems to start clicking multiple times around where it lands on the screen, effectively messing up anything I'm doing.

Overall Review: After owning this for six months, I am pleased with the display but very disappointed in its performance as a touch screen. As an optical display, I can understand it only having two finger touch though (or 1.5 finger as I like to call it, because using two fingers for more than pinching doesn't always work right).

There is an oddity in the bezel but I don't know the internals so I can't say for sure if it causes any issues (or if it's specific to my monitor or not). There is a gap between the screen and the bezel obviously where the optical sensors go, but it isn't even all around. the plastic is flush with the inside of the bezel on the left and right sides, but it seems to drop off into the bezel on the bottom's right, the right side's top, and there is no plastic in the top at all.

Works, but wouldn't Recommend with Windows 8 5/30/2013 6:44:28 AM

Pros: As a basic business monitor, its works fine. Great build quality and a good picture.

Cons: I find it pretty terrible as a touchscreen for Windows 8 since W8 requires swiping from the edges of the screen for its gestures. The giant bezel gets in the way and its frustrating to use. If you are planning to use this with Windows 8, spend the extra money and go with something

Overall Review: I don't write reviews often -- I wanted to do this so others would think twice about purchasing this for use with Windows 8. I'm a big fan of Windows 8, but this is clearly not the way to experience it.
