does this work with duel monitor systems?

Yes, I used this monitor on a system with 5 screens plus this one. On Linux Ubuntu systems you will have to remap the touchscreen as it will project the touch panel across all of the screens, but after some google hunting it was pretty easy to do.

about 1 meter or 3 feet.  It is a standard type like for a printer so will be easy to get any length you need.

No. It's powered by 110V like any other monitor. USB is used by Windows to support the touch screen functions. Great monitor.

Can this display be driven via USB? ...or is the USB only used to support touch?

I have owned one of these for about 3months and theUSB is for the touch, however you can plug additional usb's into the monitor to run other devices, also it says the monitor is USB 3 capable however I have never gotten it to work on USB 3 only works on USB 2.

Nope. Pretty sure it also said it on the specs as Speakers: No.
You will have to connect them seperate. Awesome monitor otherwise.

Is the stand easily removable?

On this version of the monitor, yes. The stand is mounted via the VESA mount.

There is a newer version that has a black base that is permanently attached. I think the model number on it is slightly different, though.

Would this monitor work with a pen for art projects?

It might if you purchased a stylus designed to work with multi-touch capacitive screens, however, I'm not sure how it would hold up to the repetitive pressure from "prolonged drawing", implied by your question. I would recommend looking into a Wacom tablet, or similar solution, for computer-based hand drawing. Does this work with latitude e5450 laptop? and any recommendations on speaker?

This monitor does not have a VGA input - it's all digital input.  If your laptop has a DVI or HDMI port it'll work fine.  If not, you can get a USB video card like the EVGA UV+ to drive the monitor.  Depending on your video card, it may not drive it at native resolution but video cards these days can typically at least handle HD 1920x1080 - check your card's specs to see if it supports 2560x1600.
