3M Temflex 165 Vinyl Electrical Tape is a 6-mil, general-use vinyl insulating tape for electrical insulation and mechanical protection in light to moderate indoor and weather-protected outdoor environments. An elastic PVC backing paired with a pressure-sensitive rubber-based adhesive conforms tightly around splices and bundles, and the tape resists abrasion, moisture, alkalis, acids, copper corrosion and weathering.

Temflex 165 is made with a solventless manufacturing process without compromising performance. It is rated by UL for use up to 600 V and passes the UL 510 flame test, is CSA Approved to 1,000 V and is RoHS compliant. Ten colors make it a practical choice for phase identification and color-coding, and it stays conformable for cold-weather application.

Uses: splice insulation up to 600 V, cable jacket repair, harnessing and bundling, wire pulling and fishing, phase identification and mechanical protection.

Apply the tape in half-lapped layers with enough tension to produce a uniform wind, stretching it to about 5/8 of its original width. Wrap uphill. On pigtail splices, fold the tape back over the end for added protection. Apply the final wrap without tension. Apply between 32 and 100 degrees F.
