Does it come with a 48V POE Adapter now? They didn't used to

Hi fellow shopper, 
Correct it does not come with one, do a search for 48v switching power supply online.  I found one for the cost of a lunch meal.

If you do get it, make sure you download the new firmware, because it is a huge update making the GUI totally different, but way better and more secure.

Sounds like you know this product already, I was quite surprised it didn't come with one when I couldn't see the selection for 48v on the GUI port interface, come to find out I had to have a 48v adapter plugged-in to be able to assign 48v to a network port.

can use this without POE?

Yes you can I have some POE devices and some non POE devices on it. They also sell a Unifi one that can be managed thru the Unifi controller makes things a lot easier

Does it come with 48V or 24V power adaptor?

All new models come with the 48V power adaptor.

If for some reason you get one that has the 24V you can contact Ubiquiti and they will exchange it for you.

Does this allow for only allowing certain MAC addresses on the network?

Yes, to answer the first question. Please be aware though this is an edge router and requires some moderate network skills to configure properly. This is not a pull it out of the box and take the default type device but it is very functional and powerful and yes it will allow you to lock down to MAC addresses. Also research your POE requirements if necessary for example you would not want to run too many POE cameras off of this device because of the limited wattage. GREAT UNIT FOR THE PRICE!

Can you use two IP address's in router?

This question is very vague. 
Do you mean "can the router itself be accessible from two different addresses"? I think the answer to this is yes, but you need to check the Ubiquiti forums or similar for a better answer.
If you mean "does the router provide multiple addresses" - yes, this is literally the purpose of a router.

I don't really know what else you could be asking - you should definitely Google your question and you're bound to get more thorough answers.

Will this device support a 1gig WAN connection?

It is completely dependant on how you setup this device.  If you enable offloading and use it primarily as a NAT it will get you up into the 800mbps range.  If you start turning features on like QoS or bridging you will quickly drop into the sub 100 range.

I'd recommend spending more time reading up on the Ubiquity forums as you'll get a better idea on what other people are seeing with their configurations

Can this router do port blocking on every port except the two that I want to use? I know this used to be a common feature even on cheap routers but the ones I've purchased recently haven't had it and it's a feature i use...

Yes, you should be able to block any and all ports you want. I, however, have not tested that. But I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to accomplish what you want.

Question 8

I  am returning a Cisco router because they cannot support a /22 subnet (it has a limitation of /24 - purely artifical if you ask me).  Does this have any sort of limitation on the size of a subnet I can specify?

There is a technical reason to limit a subnet size. Besides aligning the mask to the decimal dot notation, which I agree is artificial, any services the router provides must allocate more resources the lower the subnet number. In the EdgeOS user guide for example, HFQ (host fairness queuing) is supported up to /22, while a PPPoE client pool is supported only for /24 subnets. You will need to check that the specific services you need support the larger subnet allocations.

How can the ERPoe-5 be mounted?

To a wall, yes. There are 2 holes on the bottom that you can just mount on top of 2 screws in the wall.
On a rack, no. I don't see any screw holes for that kind of mounting.

I know this has been asked already, but According to Ubiquiti they started shipping 48v power supplies with these in Jul/Aug 2014.  I've just been waiting for 24v stock to run out.  Any chance someone has bought one of these recently and actually received a 48v PS?

If you purchase the product and it has a 24v power supply, you can call them and exchange it for a 48v power supply.

They did it for me without any hassle and even sent the new one out so I could use the unit until the new 48v power supply arrived at my house.
