Were there any problems with RAM clearance?

I had no problems. I'm using an Asus F2A85-MPRO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131883 If your DIMM sockets are right beside your cpu, you might have trouble with that... it does rise a bit above the board, though. It was the best thing I could find, since I'm also using a low-profile case. It does take some un/screwing to get the thing mounted, but it works quite well.

How tall does this with the fan?

If you are worried about this blocking up a PCI slot in a small case this cooler is very slim and no bigger than a stock cooler height wise.

The only worry you'd might have are really high heatsink like on skrill ram. My ram is OC with heatsinks and it goes right up underneath where the heatsink is lipped up.

Does anyone know if this will fit an AM3+ mATX board? (BIOSTAR A960D+V2)

This might not be helpful at all but I have this on my msi a58-m35 micro atx board and it fits, but it is a very tight fit. They're both micro atx of similar design so you might have luck but I am not sure. I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer.

Fit in a 2U chassis?

The Gelid Sphero 120mm fits in slim HTPC case which is what I used it for. If the 2U server rack chassis case is 4" or taller this will fit.

Just trying to figure out if this would fit on my MSI minATX mobo, FM2 socket, short of busting out the ruler. Any thoughts?

I used this for vertical clearance below power supply. Orientation of fan can put it very close to memory. Height of memory could be a factor.

The heat sink/fan assembly itself weighs 324 g.  The mounting hardware (brackets, standoffs, screws, plus paste) weigh 32 g.  The entire package and contents (as received) weighs 459 g.  These weights come from a Kitrics digital nutrition scale, and should be +/- 1 g.
