can I use any pot with this cooktop?

No, you cannot. The pot or pan must be induction compatible. Aluminium and copper doesn't work, nor does utensils made of stainless steel that have copper or aluminium bottoms. If a magnet wont stick to the bottom of it, it work work. Cast iron works fine but isn't recommended for glass cooking services because of the weight.

Hi, I believe you can, as long as you make sure the top of your kitchen range could provide an even/safe surface, and nothing will block the ventilation outlet (which at the bottom of this induction cooktop.) I hope my answer helps.
