Question 1

Will this unit automatically throttle the fan voltage based upon the temperature reading or are you limited to the 4 presets (off, low, med, high)?

No on the auto adjustments, that would be cool :-)  you can set 4 different zones to different speeds and adjust on the fly.  All my fans run on low, and there is only one fan on my Antec 900 I need to adjust when under load.  Top fan to suck out the heat from the corsair closed loop.  Ivy bridge at 4.8 ghz on all four cores.  Hope that helps,  very happy with the controller.....by far the best I have setup so far, this is my 3rd controller over the years, different systems.

Anyone know where to get the drivers? Aerocools website has nothing. My unit came with no disc. - Thanks

This is a stand alone control unit. It does not require driver's the screen display controls the fans separately and not through software in the computer! Mine works great and keeps my track mount music production computer at 78 degrees!!

Does it shut off the fans too??

Yes. You can choose between 4 settings: high (H), medium (M), low (L), and off (O)

I would like to use this just for the temp sensor, sd card reader, and USB port.  I plan to just let my motherboard control fan speeds.  I would like to keep the inside of my case looking neat.  Is that jumble of fan power cables removable?

Yes, the yellow and black ribbon cable that powers the fans can be removed from the circuit board behind the display of this unit. However there may be some hot glue over the connector holding the cable's connector into the board. An overnight stay in a freezer, within a sandwich bag, should help with popping off this glue in a single clean motion without causing a physical damage to the cable or the circuit board.

What is the power requirement for this controller?

There is no minimum power requirement for this controller. It has a maximum Wattage of 20W per fan cable that it is capable of handling. I have it hooked up to a 500W power supply and it controls both my intake and CPU fan without any difficulty. It really is a fun little unit. Hope this helps.

Will this fit in a 5.25" drive bay? Also, do I just power it via molex on my PSU?
