Will the drive bays support 15mm high 2.5" drives?

Accepted Answer

A 15mm drive height will be a snug fit in each of the drive bays and will reduce the air flow through the drive cage.  I use the 9.5mm HGST 1TB 2.5" drives and with 4 it is a fast array and the cooling is good.

Since I began using the Supermicro CSE M14T and CSE M35T drive cages I seldom have drive failures, I think the solid mounting and  cooling ability results in great drive life.

Question 2

Does this unit support SATA 3 6GB/s drives?

I use this for housing SSDs and SATA-3 drives with no problem even though the old information claims is a SATA-2 rack.  Two Samsung 250-GB 840 EVO SSDs in a Raid-0 setup show an average 1 GB/s read/write on HD Tune drive test, and even though Samsung's Magician software cannot find the SSDs because they are in a raid mode or connected to a raid controller it shows the same speed when testing as an unknown drive C.
