Pros: Had this monitor since early January 2008. It still runs great despite falling from 3-4 feet onto the floor a couple of times. Never had a single issue with it ever! Great quality TN panel!
Cons: After 7.5 years, the wear on the display is really starting to show. When the background is mostly white, there is subtle, but noticeable flickering going on from time to time. The colors aren't what they used to be either.
Other Thoughts: Glad to have gotten so many hours of service out of this monitor. It was worth every penny. Now, it's time to retire it.
Pros: I bought this monitor originally in 2007. To this day it still works great. It had been moved with my from house to house and I was trying to find something stable. It survived my apartment burning down in 2010 and being sprayed with a fire hose. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this baby turn on again after all that. It developed a dead pixel from the accident, which is totally understandable. It's still fully functional and still being used today.
Cons: Nothing in the slightest.
Pros: Excellent image quality and consistency with even lighting and no leaking. Light weight for easy mounting on any sort of VESA mount. Overall very dependable.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Purchased this monitor from NewEgg in April 2008 and it had been going rock solid all this time. Every time I thought about getting a newer, bigger screen, I had to admit this one was working just fine and I had no real need to get another one. As of October 2014, this Acer has finally died and I am finding it very hard to choose a replacement -it really set the bar so high, I'm going to have spend a lot to match what I had. Credit to Acer for building an amazing product. I think 6.5 years is a fair lifespan so I have no concerns there.
Pros: size, and quality
Cons: n/a
Other Thoughts: Little bit less quality than my samsung, but it works great for a second monitor.
Pros: Nice performance, lasted 3.5 years
Cons: Power problem tells me cheap techo. Received with 4 bad pixels, lasted 3.5 years until finally stop booting up. Would not do it again. Bought 4 of these, 2 24's, rest still going strong.
Other Thoughts: Now I'm going to have to replace two to match. Not sure if I will do the brand again due to this power failure.
Pros: Worked well for a few years.
Cons: The monitor seems to gave stopped functioning properly. When powered on you can hear an audible hiss or high pitched noise. The power led on the power button does not come on and it will sit there for quite some time. After a few minutes (around 10-15 minutes) the hum will become louder and softer on and off as if it is attempting to show something. Then another 15-20 minutes later it will flash the ACER logo on the screen then go black and repeat. Then another round of waiting for this to stop can range anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours (yes I have seen it go that long) and then it will finally show up the picture on the screen. So sometimes the whole process will take 25 minutes and other times it can take 3 hours to get it to turn on. I don't mind it so much due to the fact that I use it as a secondary monitor but if it was my main I would be a bit annoyed.
Other Thoughts: Was a good buy at the time, however the quality over time has dropped.
Pros: I bought this monitor for myself as a birthday gift in 2007 and i still use it and love it. Has never given me a problem and i will continue to use for as long as possible
Cons: The only thing that i do not like is the 1680 x 1050 resolution but i cant remove a egg for that
Other Thoughts: When i bought this monitor i had no idea who acer was, so i decided to give them a chance and oh boy i do not regret my decision

Pros: Big beautiful monitor at a terrific price.
Cons: On some systems, like my Suse Linux 10.2 boxes with older Nvidia graphics chips, the text is very blurry until you install the newer drivers.
Other Thoughts: If you're having the blurry text and screen overrun problem, are using Suse 10.2, and have an old Nvidia card, and have spent hours fiddling around with settings but can't get it to stay fixed (I would occasionally get it to look right, and then it went all blurry again), GO TO THE NVIDA Linux driver page, and it will tell you how to use Yast to install the correct drivers. Reboot, and the monitor is a champ!
Added 12/26/2017 - it's now ten years later and I am still using and liking this monitor. Thank you Acer!
