Can i flip the screen vertically?

Not with the stand it comes with.  However, by mounting it on a sturdy moveable arm along with a pivoting head, the monitor is rotatable and will operate in the vertical orientation.  You will still have to do the proper key stroke to activate vertical orientation.

Question 3

The manual says that buttons 1,2 are the on off buttons. The power light does not come on or power when it is when plugged in. It is neither amber to show ready or blue when I press the power buttons. Is the power button next to what is supposed to be the power light? The 'manual' is useless, at best.

the power button is below and just to the left of the power light, which is on the bottom right of the center bevel which can be a different color from the frame of the screen.

Honestly though, just plug in the monitor and hit every button one at a time and you should have been able to see the light turn orange if not plugged into a computer or the computer is off, or blue if the computer is on.  if you have already done this and your monitor light does not come one and you still have a dark screen, you will need to check the power chord connections at the monitor, the power brick and the plug at the other end.  if you have done all this and still cannot turn the monitor on; then you need support/RMA help.

Question 4

Does it have audio out, so I can connect headphones or speakers to it?

While it does appear to have a speaker grill and an audio out jack; Acer support keeps telling me that this model does not have actual speakers or audio capabilities in it.

is this a gloss or matte screen ?

If I understand correctly, I would say gloss. The screen is certainly reflective, but not overly so.

Also, for anyone else's future reference, the base and back of this screen are white, while the front is black. The pictures somewhat appeared to show a silver base, but they are indeed white.
