Have you had more problems with the monitor going into sleep mode and not waking up?

Accepted Answer

No.  But I notice that when the computer is in sleep mode, the monitor constantly cycles through the various inputs and never goes into low power mode.  I just turn it off.
Regardless of these minor annoyances, I love this monitor.  For the price point, it can't be beat.  I recommend it if you're on a budget.

does this monitor have speakers?

It doesn't. Be aware, however, that if you plug it in over HDMI, your device may attempt to output audio through it. You'll just need to restore your original source as the default output, in the OS.

Question 4

The description has the cabinet is white but the pictures show the face of the cabinet is black.  What color is the front face of the cabinet?

The back of the unit is white and the outside edge wraps around the panel, so the very outside of the unit that faces the user is a thin white border.  Nice screen, especially when on sale.  Required a little burn in.  Sometimes I have difficulty switching inputs between two connected computers, but it's not a show stopper.  Love the real estate, and the fact the pixel size matches my 24" monitors running at 1920x1200, so all fonts are same size across screens.

Will this monitor accept the full resolution of 2560x1440 over DVI from a 2008 Mac Pro?

I know that DVI-I will probably not. My version of this display has a DVI-D which, at least in theory, I think is capable of supporting that resolution. (For reference see Linus Tech Tips thread "Does DVI support 1440p" )  I have personally only used it at native resolution with Display Port coming off my GPU, which I love and has worked great. Please also be advised that, despite the manual and advertising saying otherwise, my display only came with one rather short display port cable- which wasn't an issue for me. So if you plan to use the other options you might need to plan to have a different cord. The display itself is very beautiful and is a great lower cost (I imagine at least) alternative to a Mac branded display. Even when displaying 1080p, as is occasionally required due to content availability or other issues, it looks absolutely great. I am very happy with my Acer EB1. The size, resolution and low price was a fantastic combo for me.

Can my GTX 970 drive this 1440p monitor while gaming at 60fps with ultra settings?

Not strong enough on the GPU, unless you're talking CS:GO, or something like that.  I don't have your card, but I do have GTX 780's and 780ti's, and while they are only 3GB cards, they are all in the same ballpark as your 970 4GB.  When run as a single card, they needed setting dialed down to medium and high to keep the dips from being too frequent.  This was with Destiny 2, BF1, and COD WW2.  Hope that helps.
