Can this be mounted? I am trying to use it on a sit-stand workstation. I cant see pictures of the back to see if there are mounting brackets/holes.

yes It can be mounted. There are 4 holes for the bracket on the back.

Is there some type of screw that connects the stand to the monitor or does it just clip on?

This unit has a rectangular tang that fits into a hole in the back of the screen with spring loaded clip that resists separation in use.  It does not use a bolt or screw.

What is the highest supported refresh rate?

72 Hz.In some games/programs, you may have to manually change to 72 Hz in options, since it will default to 60.

Does it have built in speakers since it uses HDMI?

No speakers but there is an audio plug on the back so if your using a ps4 (or the like) you can plug in a set of computer speakers. And it works really well.

I see that this is compatible with windows os, will it not work with a mac?

Should work with anything as that has relative ports to plug into it with,  I do not own a mac so I'm not sure what ports they have. 
On a side note, these are beautiful monitors I have two of them.

You may need to replace with a longer better quality cable.  Mine was a bit too short.

According to the Samsung website this series (C27F390) is VA. so it is not IPS or TN. From my reading VA has somewhat better viewing angle color advantages similar to IPS (maybe not always as good, not sure) but is not generally as fast as TN. But since they spec this is 4ms response time you have a general idea of its speed.
