No it doesn't. I tested that out when I got this mouse and all it did was just push down to start scrolling

What if any color does the RGB lighting default to when powered up? Say you are using it with Ubuntu...  is there no lighting, RGB cycling... etc.

Enter an answer to this quesTo answer my own question (after purchase). Initial power up the logo was yellow, DPI blue and the front zone blue. The DPI color changes based on its setting however you can change the DPI setting per color with the Corsair Windows software. Along with the logo and front zone colors. These changes wouldn't be retained until saved to the device using the Corsair software. Once stored they will be remain active without the software. Such as booting Ubuntu from a cold boot the mouse will performed as programmed. Bottom line the mouse has "local storage" for these three settings. I don't believe the other settings can be "stored" such as what the various buttons do...tion.

I'm looking for a wired mouse with a light, thin, and extremely flexible cord.  I want it to feel like there is no cord at all.  How would you rate the cord on this one?.

As for wired mice, I feel that this is probably your best option. The cable fits in my mouse bungee (which did NOT fit my logitech mouse) and it has a braided-cloth like feel rather than heavy duty plastic or kevlar wrapped. Having a mouse bungee would probably make it feel better as I hardly notice mine, but even without one, it's quite light. Hope this helps.

Can you change the dpi? If so, what's the range?

The mouse has two buttons on the top that allow the user to select five distinct curser movement rates.  The mouse also has an LED between these two buttons that indicates the current cursor rate selected.  The two buttons names are “DPI Up” and “DPI Down”.  The user controls the actual curser movement rates with settings in the downloadable software. The Mouse also has a single button on the lrft (Thumb) side that greatly slows the cursor movement rate, called the “Sniper” button.  The software lets you set different rates for the X-axis and Y-axis at each level.

The Default rates per inch are:

The mouse has incremental movement, but will scroll quickly during normal use. After using a gigabyte mouse for years, this feature helps my precision with the wheel.

How long is the cord?

3 meters if I had to guess. Seems longer than any other mouse I've used. Also has a nice velcro strap for wrapping it up if using it plugged into your keyboard or somewhere nearby and don't need the full length of the cord. Great mouse!

Can the sniper button be reprogrammed to do anything?  Or does it only do dpi?

You can map it to other keys with the iCUE software.  First thing to do is set the DPI for default and Sniper to be equal, then remap the sniper button.  Same thing can be done with the DPI up and down buttons (I make all my dpi levels the same and even turn most off, then remap the buttons to my desired keys)
