Excellent Device

Pros: Excellent signal strength (5GHZ)
Solid performance (5GHZ)
Easy to install and setup (download web drivers)

Cons: Nothing as of yet, it works perfectly.

Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with the performance of this device. My router setup is in my upstairs bedroom, and gaming setup is downstairs. I'm getting about a 2ms pings to my router with spikes to 3ms/4ms every now and then. Totally acceptable to me considering the distance. As per bandwidth I'm getting the full 120/20 I'm paying for.

Please take into consideration your router needs to be tuned for best results. If you live in a heavily populated area with a saturated 5GHZ/2GHZ spectrum you're going to have to do some channel tuning to find the best option. All these settings will affect your results with this device an any other wifi device, so it's worth spending some time finding the best channel/ channel width on your preferred frequency.

Horrible performance and experience. Do NOT recommend.

Pros: - The magnet stand is useful.
- The range is pretty good.

Cons: - Very high amount of Ping spikes, cannot play a single game or surf the internet without high amounts of lag.
- 5Ghz band very rarely works, and when it does, the adapter turns off and on over and over (Boot loops), so it's very unstable.
- High Price tag for something so unstable.
- The support team is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with support. 30-45 minute wait times just to get connected to somebody I cannot even understand because of their accent. They have no idea one what the issue is, so they keep repeating the same steps over and over. I had one support tech tell me the drivers on THEIR website won't work and I had to use the disc that came with it (I did both, and I explained that, but he kept pushing it), once that finally got though with him, he insisted it was a defective device, but once again, I told him I already replaced it and this was the second unit I tried. I had to hang up on him and get another technician just to get anywhere with support. The worst about about everything, is they charge people for this level of support and experience, you get 90 days of free support after you buy the product, but after that, you have to pay for answers. I don't mind that if it's good support, but it's not, it's horrible.

Other Thoughts: After what I experienced, I'm never buying a Netgear product again.

Only for Win 7.. Tech support the pits!

Pros: Works sporadically with Win7, but when it does work it's fast. The only reason it got an egg.

Cons: Tech support is non existent ignoring my requests. I have a notebook that I alternate 3 drives... Win 7, Win 10 and Linux Mint. NO driver support for any Linux distro. While I can get it to work with Win 10 on a fresh driver install, the next reboot and every after it won't work. In Win 7 when it does work, if you let their junk (edited) drivers update over the internet.. guess what... it won't work again until you completely remove the drivers and reinstall off the CD and then not allow any updates. Netgear completely messed (edited) this one up!

Other Thoughts: Would only recommend to someone I REALLY don't like.

Horrible device

Pros: Speed are fast but not consisted.

Cons: Disconnect from network regularly. Reinstall software on a regular basics because it wont connect to the internet or the network. Updates wont work have to use software on the CD. Spend too much time trying to get this device to work. I though it would be an excellent companion to my NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router (R7000) by increasing my transfers/download speeds. As of this writing it is down again. I'm using a older wireless adapter which worked well but had slow transfer speed. This device has giving me nothing but problems.

Other Thoughts: Don't recommend buying this device
I wasted money on it.
I have several wireless adapters this one cost me the most and it giving me the most problems. I'm feeling really bad about Netgear after hearing a lot of good things about the company over the years. I'm also looking into buying a new router (Synenergy) to replace my netgear router because I have been having issues with that as well. But that's for another review.

Blazing fast- So far...

Pros: Please know, I write this review with some trepidation. I've browsed the review section on several WiFi USB adapters and whew, pretty bleak out there. Also, I've owned the first one I bought for about a month so take that for what it is worth. If my opinion changes, I'll be back. So...
Just FYI I have the Netgear Nighthawk router so these things are probably made to play pretty well together, AND, they do.
I live in an approximately 3000 square foot house with an upstairs bonus room. I have placed the Nighthawk router in that upstairs bonus room so the router is up nice and high compared to the rest of the house and arranged the 3 antennae in the reccommended configuration. Now, while I have a height advantage, that room is at the opposite end of the house from where I have placed these adapters.
My son's room is the furthest and the room I tried first. He was rocking an old refurbished wnda3100 that I got cheap off of an auction site that shall not be named or something and while the 2.4 got acceptable signal, the 5Ghz was abysmal. I wish for the life of me I had recorded the speedtest numbers but from memory, on 2.4, the ping was usually acceptable in the low 30's on a good day and 50-60 Mbps on a good day. He also had to plug and unplug the adapter from time to time to get it to reconnect... But it worked.
After I installed the AC1900 adapter, good gosh. The 5Ghz signal was max. Huge difference. I have Spectrum in a large city in South Texas and pay for 200Mbps service. On my wired connections, I get 210-220 Mbps and a ping around 19-20. I just went and ran speedtest on the adapter in my son's room and got a ping of 27ms and 217Mbps. Literally almost as fast as wired. I've seen better pings on previous runs so, maybe just not a good night.
He has not had to plug/unplug once since I installed it. This is through reboots and sleep cycles.

Cons: So... not sure ya'll are going to take this as a con but...
I am like most of you here in that I don't like having to use 3rd party software. It's usually bull hockey and just gets in the way. I, like a lot of you that are reading this, have had many instances where just letting Windows handle the adapter solved many problems. I tried just plugging it in but Windows didn't recognize so I followed instructions and installed the software. So far, no problems and I really don't know it's there. I am an experienced computer user but not a networking or radio genius so I don't know for this thing if the software maybe is needed for the "beamforming" to work or whatever.

Other Thoughts: Why did I put a $70 adapter in my son's room who was happy with his wnda3100. Cause I'm a freak. I like tech gadgets? Wanted to get the Mbps I'm paying for. Or maybe I'm just an awesome Dad. I actually thought after I put this in his room, I should put the old one back cause now he's gonna be sucking down my bandwidth... But, then I put another in my daughters room and that one has been flawless as well for the even shorter time I've owned it.
I have no idea if you'll get the same results. I have a feeling the router and these things play really well together. AC and 5Ghz at the signal levels I'm getting are freaking amazing.
Good luck. Don't buy this cause I said so. Seems like there is a vast difference of user experience with any brand of USB adapter out there. Just relating my experience.
Happy- So far....
