Constantly drops

Pros: N/A

Cons: Constantly drops connectivity, will periodically require power cycle to function, does not retain MAC FID table when connected to another switch. I wouldn't recommend.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend or purchase. Latest version of firmware hasn't resolved any of the issues with stability.

Works very well, simple to use

Pros: 1. Set up is easy
2. Works well
3. Simple
4. Has Ethernet ports
5. Works on 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands
6. No problems so far

This range extender works very well. You plug it in. It finds your wireless network. Enter the password in the extenders address and you are on line. That is it. The rear Ethernet ports are probably not that useful, but they are still there and work.

The manual is one page. Follow the directions and you are on your way.

Cons: 1. Not living room/wife friendly.
2. May have to set up with network address on internet page
3. Costs are a little high

My wife saw this thing and definitely did not want it the living room. I have hidden it behind a desk.

Other Thoughts: There are two variables on speed with this device. The first is how close you are to the wireless network. The second is how close you are to this device. Since this device is boosting a single, you need to expect some degradation in speed. Yet, it takes care of problem, it does it well and fast.

I had this set up on my phone including unboxing in about 2 minutes. It has worked ever since. I have had reset our router three times. This device has worked like a trooper without fail. It must not get very hot. It has been running continuously for two months now.

I like that there are Ethernet ports. It gives the device some interesting functionality that most extenders do not.

This device is meant to be very simple. It is. So do not expect a lot of fine controls. It is meant to fix a problem. It does and does it well.

Easiest Setup Ever

Pros: I don't often call PC components or networking equipment cute, but this one is...
That doesn't detract from it's ability to serve its intended purpose though
The simplest setup for a network device I have ever experienced
No loss in transfer speeds on either band; 2.4GHz/5GHz
Finally full speed Wi-Fi in my wife's office
Flawless performance for 5+ weeks

Cons: If I was going to be super picky about setting up this device I could say 2 very minor things...

1) The setup page did not pop up on my phone automatically...no big deal to type in the IP Addresss 192.168.1.1

2) When I was prompted to type in my Wi-Fi network password it defaulted to a capitalized first letter

That's it...nothing serious enough to dock an egg.

Other Thoughts: This is a perfect complement to my Linksys EA7500 router. I am so happy that this took care of the small weak Wi-Fi spot in my home as other cheaper devices always proved to only hinder performance.

Simply follow the very short, 4 step, directions and you should be in business for enhanced Wi-Fi performance/coverage. The light was solid on the extender after about 1 minute. I found the expected Linksys Setup SSID on my Android LG G4 after clicking 'Search' for new Wi-Fi signals only once. The extender picked up both of my 2.4GHz/5GHz bands (as well as some of my neighbors) immediately. All that was left was to input my password and voila! Superior Wi-Fi performance!

I've had it hooked up for 5, maybe 6, weeks at this point and it has been perfect as far as holding a connection is concerned. It has no problem transmitting my new Comcast speed of 180Mbps down.

I feel that this extender will hold up to the standards I have come to expect from Linksys(Cisco) products.

Works well, wish it was also just an access point

Pros: - Wireless extending worked well. I was able to get wifi two floors down much stronger than just with a single AP on the top level.
- Speeds were about what I expected. About half of full which is normal since the signal is repeated.
- Dual Band
- 802.1AC

Cons: - This is something I've noticed with every range extender I've seen: I've never been able to get it to act as an access point. There's literally no reason for this except for the lack of code. It wouldn't be that hard either, quite frankly it's frustrating since the hardware is already in place. This would make it so that the signal wouldn't be repeated but rather have your network extended via an already available ethernet port on the back.

Other Thoughts: All in all I would recommend this to someone if they want/need a repeater and/or wireless bridge, however, an access point it is not hence the 4/5 eggs.

Pros: Great performance
Easy Setup
High Gain antennas included
Small footprint

Cons: It didn't write this review itself!

Other Thoughts: I've been using a range extender of a different brand to provide WiFi coverage to my shop behind my house, but that extender was very finicky, and drop connections often. Even when it did work, it provided a fairly weak signal. Needless to say, I needed a replacement, and what I got was a major improvement!

For best performance, you're supposed to place the extender between in the mid-point between your router, and the area to which you want to extend coverage. This presented a bit of a problem since I'm trying to reach my shop behind my house, which places the mid-point outside. I decided to ensure best performance, I'd build a small weatherproof "box" under my patio, and install it there. I was able to design it so that air it still receives airflow, but moisture is kept out.

Setup was simple, and straight-forward, if you've ever setup a router or extender. Once setup, it was time to test performance. I booted up the computer in the shop, and amazingly a great signal! Once connected up, I gave a few speed tests, and was happy to see that I was making full use of the bandwidth the extender could provide. Speedtests for my internet connection showed 125mbps down/11mbps up - the full bandwidth provided by my cable internet.

After several hours of testing, the signal has no degraded, nor half my connection weakened. I will post an updated review if I see any issues develop, such as dropped connections. However, I don't expect to see any. My one and only gripe is the cost is a bit higher than I would've preferred, but hey, I knew the price when I bought it so I can't really complain!

This has been a really great experience (nothing went wrong! lol), and if you need an extender, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Linksys dual band wireless AC range extender

Pros: Dual Band 2.4 and 5 Ghz channels
Worked with my dual band router without and extra steps
Set up was 2 minutes and easy.
4 Ports in case you want to wire a computer or other item and have it work thru extender.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: Put this about 50 foot from regular router and 2 rooms away from patio when I have had 2 other range extenders and they didn't even help on patio. Waited about 1 minute for light to quit flashing and went thru set up on laptop it ran thru set up for 2.4 band first the right after picked up my 5. GHz and set it up in total the whole set up took less than 3 minutes.
First thing I did is go onto patio and what do you know I had signal the second thing I did was a speed test and I go 90 Mbps the same as I got when sitting on couch and connected just thru router. I was pretty amazed especially after owning 2 other range extenders that didn't work as good.

Next I went to back of yard about 150 feet from back door and patio speed decreased by about half but at 45 Mbps still is good enough to game off of. On the 2 other range extenders I own the first started dropping signal after 2 months so I would have to unplug it and do a reset to get it working again. This happened at least every two days so I took a chance and bought a different brand and it worked decent for about six months then started dropping. I would have to do pretty much the same as the first. The signal from other range extenders was good enough to open a web page slowly on patio but that was it. So this one actually does what it says so far and I have great signal even to my neighbors back yard. Is fun to sit and talk to neighbors and have my pad with me so I can open web pages and so them what I want to. This one cost double what I paid for the other but so far it works twenty times better than them and stronger signal.

I will update this review in about 3 to 5 months so I can see if it start dropping signal. If it doesn't drop then I have finally found one that truly extends the signal and is dependable.
