I have a Epson R2880 USB 2 and want to use it my verizon network.  I have a SEH print Server and it has been crashing my network since my pc's are running 8.1.  I also want to is I can get bi-direction info from the printer monitor on ink levels and other funtions will it work?

I don't know about bidirectional info.  It works with windows 7 without crashing (ever?).  Your printer doesn't have an ethernet port or printserver I believe, but if it did, you could use a wifi extender and plug the printer over ethernet into that wifi extender.  That would definitely work.

I can't say if it will work with your IPhone but I can tell you that only one device at a time can use the printer because you need to activate the software for the print server and this de-activates it on your other device. In my case the devices were two computers. I would not recommend this print server if you plan on using it with more than one device.

as long as the printer is usb 2.0 it should work.  The driver you might have to specify a TCP/IP port instead of usb port when printing.

But this is normal when using a usb print server.

Will this USB print server work with a 3D printer?
The 3D printer is MakerBot Replicator 2. It has one USB port. But there is no Ethernet port in this model.

yes it should.  Here is how you set it up:
1) install the printer locally to the computer using a usb cable
2) set up the print server on the network
3) connect the printer to the print server using the usb cable
4) run the buffalo utility program on the computer and it will switch the port from usb to a network port

This may be a dumb question BUT, do I need a print server for each device that I want on my wireless network?

Hello, actually you cannot use a USB hub or split cables.  This is not a true print server but a USB 'server' or more specifically USB to ethernet converter.  The Buffalo device allows one, and only one USB device to be detected.  If more than one are plugged in, say via a USB hub, than the Buffalo will not recognize any of the USB devices.  It's all right in the directions.  Moreover, it only allows one computer to connect to the Buffalo device and print at a time.  Once one computer is connected it will show as in use to all other computer on the network and they will have to wait for the connected computer to disconnect before connecting then submitting their print job.  Pretty poor design actually.
