Yes, MoCA adapters are backward compatible. Each device pairs individually with each other device on the network. When two MoCA 2.0 devices communicate, they do so at full speed. When a MoCA 2.0 device communicates with a MoCA 1.0 device, the speed drops to what a 1.0 device can muster. No issues running different versions on the same coax cable plant. These Motorola MM1000 adapters are awesome... I've now got six in the house, works great. Seeing speeds between 600 Mbps and near full Gigabit throughout the house, spanning >4000 square feet with rooms scattered to the four corners. Replaced some older model units from another vendor.
