Is there a button on the router to turn wifi on/off?

Not to specifically turn off Wi-Fi only…..but, that can be done through the software interface provided by ASUS.

Can this router Throttle individual devices at a set maximum download/upload?

Accepted Answer

Yes.

Click 'Game Acceleration' on the left, then click 'QoS' tab. Change 'QoS Type' to 'Bandwidth Limiter'. Then you can add upto 32 connected devices with download and upload limits in Mb/s.

Keep in mind, you may have better results using a more modern QoS type like leaving it on Adaptive and picking the most important thing to you. Then, go to 'Traffic Analyzer' on the left and pick 'Bandwidth Monitor' tab. Then, click on one of the 5 priority options (Highest -> Lowest) and drag that color ontop of the device you want to have that priority. This way, when nothing more important is going on, the lower rated devices can still use the full speed. Two devices with the same rating will share priority.

Question 4

Can you throttle per device? As in my roomates download all the time making it a nightmare to use the internet, so could I set a max they can use on the bandwidth to allow me to actually use the internet?

Yes.  In the Asus settings:  Adaptive QoS, enable QoS if it's disabled, click the Bandwidth Limiter button, then add the client and upload and download limits below that - I'm describing in the open source firmware, so I'm not sure if the stock Asus firmware is very similar, but probably not too dissimiliar.

Are the 10g ports 10 Gbps only, or do they also support 1/2.5/5 Gbps?

They are also backwards compatible with 1/2.5/5

Anyone know the basic dimensions when opened up and operating?

Dimensions (no antennas) note:  you can't remove the antennas.
10.4 x 10.4 x 2.9 in 
(26.4 x 26.4x 7.4 cm)

If I include the antennas, approximately 16 inches square, and approximately 8 inches high.  Hope all that helps.

Yes you can select under the tab Wan / Dual wan / Basic config , Primary wan. You can select which port you want for your primary wan .   It lets you select 2.5 or 1g , 10g Ethernet 1 or 10g ethernet 2 or usb.  hope this helps =)
