Will this work on a GFCI circuit?

It will, but performance will be serverly impacted. I found this to be true when I had one end of the adaptor plugged into my basement outlet that was on a GFCI circuit. I moved it to another outlet and saw a noticeable improvment.

Will this also pair with AV500?

Yes. I have it both working great at home. If you have any problem during pairing between the two units, you need to hold down the pairing button for 10 seconds to reset the units and try it again.
