might be a dumb question but im looking at the specs and does this laptop come with mic and headphone jacks ? I'm only asking because phones are coming out without headphone plugins now lol

Yes this laptop has 1 microphone back and one audio out jack. In addition to a built in microphone on the built in webcam on top of the monitor, it also has usb ports and a usb c port that can all be used for usb headphones and microphones etc... Hope this help.

Is the GX63VR-NE1070 really a thing? If so, what's the difference between it and the GE63VR Raider?

It's not mislabeled. As it listed on the product page, this model is made exclusively for Newegg. It's really good holiday deal. You can't find it a GTX 1070 gaming laptops around $1399-1499 price point.  If the product info is worng. I believe Newegg & MSI will catch that and fix asap. But i don't think that's wrong.

This is a pretty small gaming laptop with a 1070 without Max-Q.  I'm also surprised it is this cheap.  How good is the cooling (subjectively or objectively speaking)?

no complaints .  if youre gaming, expect the fan to kick into overdrive and its far from silent. but it handles the heat.  doesn't significantly bleed through to the keyboard/trackpad either.  
The exhaust ports are on the corners of the back and sides, which can be partially blocked if its actually in your lap.

I just wish the LCD had better viewing angles.

Is the GPU really a 1070 or is it a 1070m version?

there is no such thing as a 1070M version. it is a true 1070 GTX cpu and runs accordingly. it is not a 1070 TI, but it runs the same as my desktop 1070 GTX if not a little faster due to MSI afterburner software installed managing the speed of the GPU.  It is actually a nice little laptop for my backup to my main GT73VR laptop.  it is very portable.

should my power brick have a loud coil whine?

I got my unit yesterday. After booting on, I noticed that the fans are constantly blowing even idle. Fan sound is very noticeable. I expected the laptop to remain silent when not doing anything. However, I am not sure if gaming laptop behaves differently. Trying to fix this, I did a clean windows install and only installed needed drivers. I also undervolted the cpu by 0.11V. The problem is still there. The cpu was 47 degree celcius and only has 11% utilization. Is this normal for fans to be blowing when computer is idle, and is there anyway to reduce the fan sound?

It does not sound normal.  If you want a silent laptop you can switch to ECO mode.

Also, it sounds like you have a fan profile issue.  In the guide that upgrades the EC firmware it talks about using a bat file to delete the fan profile.

There are two RAM slots and one 16GB RAM in one of them and the other one is empty. So this is really good for upgrading since all you need to do is to add another 16GM RAM.

Might be too late for you, but I just got this.  I was hesitant because there was no info on the GX version at all.

GX has exactly the same chassis as GE63VR.  It is a Raider.  Furthermore, this version has 16GB ram and 256SSD+1TB unlike the other Raider out there currently.  This is truly a Newegg only deal.  After the rebate, it was 1350 dollars... and it was a steal for this spec.  You can't find GTX 1070 along with the listed spec anywhere else.  I was going to purchase an Alienware, but I am totally satisfied with this computer.
