How's battery life in the refurbished model againts new one? does it seem battery has been used before?

It would be impossible to tell unless you had a new one running the same programs side by side. I would say that battery life is pretty poor. While it is a haswell processor it is the quad core version that uses quite a bit of power. I would not recommend this laptop if you need to be mobile often as it is quite heavy as well.

That said it is a joy to use and is pretty powerfull.

Does this computer have an rj45 jack?

what year did this computer come out?

Bought mine Feb. 2013. Still running strong.  Like it so much I maxed it out with 750GB SSD 16GB RAM, internal bluray burner.
 
I feel lucky this has an Nvidia 750M which supports UHD.  So add a 28" 4K monitor (Newegg 379 buck) to my list of things I did to max out this laptop.  It's served me well as a desktop replacement.

Surprised it's still being sold to be honest.  Sign of the times?  How should I know.

From the picture posted online for this ASUS N550JV-DB72T product, the power charger seems NOT the original one. The charger on the picture with boxes should be an older version.
Is it true or NOT? I want to figure it out before ordering it.

The charger I recieved from purchasing this exact same laptop a few months ago, did come with the original asus charger that comes with the laptop if bought new.

The specs list this model as not having a backlit keyboard.
Is that accurate?

Is there an HDMI port?

The model I got does have a backlit keyboard. Different brightness settings too or you can turn it off. It also has an HDMI port. Used it to plug it into my TV.

The specs say the keys are not back lit but reviews say they are, can you clarify?

To answer your question about the ASUS N550JV-DB72T, yes the keyboard is back lit and can be turn on/off to save battery life. Picked it up to replace my son's PC. Over all no complaints with the exception of being a bit heavy, but he since he doesn't need to lug it anywhere and stays on his desk/lap most of the time,it's not a big deal.

What video-out ports does this have?

It has HDMI out and mini-displayport out.  Both also carry audio signal as well.  You can purchase adapters from either port to VGA, DVI, or other video port, but no adapters are included.  Additionally, newer USB 3.0 "docks" can be used to connect to a display through the computer's USB 3.0 port.  I have tried one of these but noticed video performance issues when trying to play a game.  No issues using the mini-displayport or HDMI.
