I called ASUS and they inform me that a 8GB card can be installed for a total of 12 GB;  4GB is installed on the motherboard and cannot be changed.

As I understand it this is an online game played with other online players. My son has this laptop and plays DDO which is an online game and he has no problems with it.

I don't have this laptop, but looking at the specs it should be able to run fps games with ease, but if your son plays bo2-bo3, farcry 3 or games like that, you'll have to lower the quality but it will still run at around 30-40 fps (wich is good).
