How functional is the dual-core processor? I'm looking for a budget laptop and haven't used anything dual-core in a few years - does it hold up well for casual internet/Netflix/MS Office usage?

I've had the laptop for 3 days now and have been using it with no issues. I was worried about the dual core cpu as well because some budget machines are coming with quad core cpus now. It does, however, perform just fine for daily tasks. I've been using it to browse the web, work in Microsoft Office, and even some light Java programming and it works just fine. For the type of usage you describe, it should be fine.

Is the memory expandable?

It appears as if the memory is soldered to the board as Crucial says the memory can not be expanded.

Does this have any empty DIMM slots to allow RAM upgrade?

It appears as that the existing memory is soldered onto the motherboard. According to the Crucial website, it says that it is not able to be upgraded.

Why doesn't this model series (F402BA-EB94) show up on the ASUS support website? The closest I found was E402BA...

I am not sure why Asus has not included this machine on their website. It is a little worrying. I am however typing this message on this machine. In the Windows System properties, it shows E402BA, so I'm not sure what is going on.

Does this laptop have a built in camera, am planning to use skype?

Yes. It does have a built in camera. It should work well for skype. Keep in mind that it isn't the best camera.

Can I upgrade it to 12GB RAM? and AMD A10 processor?

According to the Crucial website, this model can not be updated past the 8GB of RAM it ships with. I suspect that it is soldered to the board. Also it is not possible to updated to an A10 CPU as the A9 is soldered in as well.

what kind of battery life does this get?

The battery life isn't the best. Maybe 3-4 hours from my experience depending upon how you're using it. The upshot for me is the portability of the laptop and the charger. So far those have made up for it at my university considering the abundance of electrical outlets.

The signature edition is just a name. It has Windows 10 Home installed out of the box.
