Yes. The graphics card is enough to play those games with a pretty stable fps as long as you don't max out graphics. Also the hybrid drive makes loading games pretty quick. You can expect around 70 or 80 fps for overwatch

There is no optical drive, everything can be downloaded though. There is a buy option to get your laptop with a 256 gb ssd, however is will cost more and you really dont need a ssd. the HDD runs everything fine, if you need your games and OS to start up that fast then I recommend a different laptop.

It does not have an optical drive. I bought this for my granddaughter and she uses the drive on her desktop over a network. External optical drives are also available.

Yes I installed one along with an additional 8gb of RAM when I first got it. It's a pretty slow system at stock with that hybrid driver, but now it's got great speed to it on boot and loading apps.

Hello! There is one 8GB stick of ram that comes with the laptop. You can then upgrade to 16GB ram by adding one more 8 gig stick. There are 2 slots in total.

Regarding adding SSD and RAM: Does it require a specific type of M.2 SSD, or only the most common type?  Should I anticipate any problems just adding an 8GB of DDR4 2666, or do I need to get a pair and swap out the 8GB that comes with it?

You're safe as long as it's a m.2 2280 SSD. The chipset supports DDR4-2666 and you won't need to swap out the included 8 GB DDR4-2666. Still, it's always best to pair identical RAM modules for guaranteed stability. Removing the bottom panel may require puncturing a clear sticker that may or may not affect the warranty of the unit.

I think it would work well. Its not the fastest machine out there, but I can play lots of different games with no issues, just don't expect to run games on High or Ultra graphic settings. I purchased it for travel, and have installed lots of Steam, Blizzard, and other games on it. I really like it

I've seen several other questions about this, but just for clarity's sake - am I able to open it up and switch stuff in/out? If so, what parts? In the specifications section, it lists 2 memory slots with a 'max supported' of 32 GB.

Can anyone who has had the product for a while comment on how well it ages? I have heard gaming laptops have issues with cooling/etc and tend to putter out earlier than others. If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate some info on how long you've had it, what you've used it for (ESO vs GW2 vs Black Desert Online, etc). Thanks much.

So, I'd like to begin with the disclaimer that I am not the most technical of people, but after a quick glance at the bottom of my unit, it looks like the entire bottom shell comes off with about 10 small phillips head screws. I'm guessing that the memory slots are easily accessed from behind that shell given it's 'covering' shape. As for replacing the SSHD? I honestly like it, the storage hasn't given me problems so far. As stated before, it should be a similar storage device as to whats found in the xbox 1.

I'm pretty mean to my stuff. My laptops in general tend to last a year and a half before I start to see issues, and you should really budget for replacing your laptops on the regular, according your personal needs.

I normally play Skyrim, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Borderlands 2.  The graphics are very crisp, but I normally only play on medium high settings as to not overwork my gpu. This is personal preference, I tend to do gaming sessions in excess of 8 hours regularly. I'm sure it can go higher, but I find it unnecessary. The performance to value of this item has so far exceeded my expectations, and I am definitely happy with it.

Another point is that this model is one of the newest ASUS has put out, so you're not likely to find a sea of feedback. I doubt there's any owners of this item out there that have the ownership level that you'd want to hear feedback from.

That being said, I have mixed feelings about the Gen 8 i5 processor - I'm not sure they put in all the work necessary to make its performance optimal at release. While I do love this laptop to bits, I feel like they could have ironed it out a little better before launching it.

I am an extreme multitasker, and sometimes I find that the processing doesnt meet my needs or there might be small lag spikes between processing. ie, running discord, facebook, spotify, gmail, diablo 3, with the league of legends client open in the background.
