Is this laptop fairly quiet?

This thing is extremely quiet, Mission Impossible, using in bed with wife sleeping next to me quiet.  With it being a SSD, there is no noise from that.  Then regarding the cooling fan, everyday tasks will not turn it on: YouTube, Google Documents, Spreadsheets, Netflix.  You have to be into gaming to push the CPU & GPU to create some heat to turn it on.  Even then, I use Flight Simulator, and when it does turn on, you have to put your ear next to it to even hear it.  Go for it.

Everywhere in the listing except on this processor is listed as a 7th gen i7. Then in the overview under the feature forward section it lists it as a 6th gen i7 but with the symbol for the 7th gen right next to it. Is it a 7th gen or 6th gen i7 processor?

I own this laptop. The laptop has a label for Core i7 - 7th Gen on it. I also ran the Intel Processor Identification Utility and it shows the Core i7 - 7th Gen icon so this is a 7th generation Intel Core  i7 processor.

The older generation listing in the 'feature forward' section is a typo.

Haven't been impressed with it. Probably 4 hours, tops, but usually closer to 3 or 3.5. Advertised as 7, though.
