Asus offers a compact cooler that delivers efficient CPU cooling for the enthusiast. The Triton 77's unique design puts the cooler high above the CPU, connected by five sealed copper heat pipes to a nickel-plated copper base. A 92mm Sunon MagLev Vapo Bearing fan draws heat upwards towards the aluminum cooling fins and away from the CPU and motherboard for enhanced cooling.
The fan supports PWM control which allows the BIOS to control the fan speed depending on processor demand. This allows the fan to operate at its rated 2,300RPM when under maximum load, or to spin at a slower – and quieter – speed when demand is lower.
The cooler installs quickly and, without requiring removal of the mother board. Thanks to its unique configuration, it doesn't encounter conflicts with other components on the motherboard. It supports Intel Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo and other LGA 775 socket processors. AMD Athlon 64 FX and X2 dual-core CPU's are supported as well as those using 939, 940 and AM2 sockets. The cooler can be oriented in any direction to ensure clearance with other items inside your case. In the event you decide to change the fan, both 8cm and 9cm fans can be fitted into the retention frame.
