Does this come with thermal compound?

Yes, but I would highly recommend you buy a better thermal compound.  Generally speaking, manufacturers send the lowest grade required to perform at an adequate level. Spending a couple extra bucks will generally get you a top of line aftermarket thermal compound. The Arctic Silver 5 is pretty much the standard go to for most PC building enthusiasts, to include myself. I hope this helps!

Looks like this has different mounting hardware.  Does it install easier than the Hyper 212 EVO?

I do believe so (As my brother has the hyper 212 Evo) in my experience it was much easier, rather than having a bracket that goes in the center you screw the mounts on the sides with a screw on both sides and thats it, it doesnt wobble everywhere or anything

Can't say for certain, but 8.1" should be enough for the 6" of the fan.  I had a 9" case that I had to remove a panel fan for it to fit into, so it is not a small fan by any means.

Question 5

Will this mount nicely on an intell micro ATX motherboard and how quiet will it be? i already have the basic intell fan, but it is so loud that i feel like i'm going to break something every time overclock it.

You will be able to install if your motherboard is compatible with any of the following LGA slots: Intel LGA 2011-v3 / 2011 / 1151 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 775 
AMD AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1... Other then that, this fan is a ninja compared to other fans when it comes to sound. Just be careful not to have any led wires or other miscellaneous wires in the way of the fan blades prior to installation and you're good to go :)

Is there a way to buy just the fan? I'd like to purchase two of the LED fans in the future.

This product doesn't have that option. However, there are many other options ranging from red to green to rgb. I think NZXT has some nice ones.

Same as 212 EVO?

Go for the  Evo, it has CDC (Continuous Direct Contact) heat pipes, this one does not.  Just look at pictures, the Evo will dissipate heat better.  Then you can just move the OEM fan to the back add a fancier RGB Led fan on the front for the cool light show.

Yes. It comes with all the parts you will ever need to install on both Intel and AMD boards including brackets and a reversible backplate.

I can’t be sure as I do not have am4 or that build anymore but the device came with a great design that allowed it to fit seemingly almost anything.  If it says it fits, I’m sure it will!

will this fit in my phanteks eclipse p400 case?

The specs for this cooling fan say that it is 160mm high.  The specs for the Phantek Eclipse P400 case says that it has clearance of 160mm for a CPU cooler.  So, this should just fit, but you may want to look for something slightly smaller just in case.
