What exactly do you do with the rubber mounts? I pulled them through the holes but it seems you're just meant to set your fan on a horizontal fan slot... they don't get any more secure than that? And I'm guessing you can't use them at all vertically?

The rubber mounts are kind of a pain, but they are definitely worth it. They have noticeably reduced vibration noise in my case. You have to really crank on them to get them through all the way (I thought for sure it was going to tear), but it should secure quite nicely horizontally or vertically. It'll have a little more play than metal screws, but it's rubber so it's all absorbed anyway. Hope this helps!
