Can I mount a Corsair HD120 (120mm) fan on the top of it? I want to use the noctua fan on bottom and the corsair on top for aesthetics

This cooler uses clips to hold the fans on the heatsink. While its designed for 140 MM fans i would imagine that it wouldn't take much effort to make a small second fan work with those clips. They also give you plenty of clips for the job. I run at 4.9 GHz on a de-lidded 6700K with just a single noctua 140mm. Probably no real need for the second fan.

would this adequately provide good cooling for an i7-8700k Intel processor?

It does a great job cooling my i7-8700. Idles around 30-34C. At load I haven't really checked, but it goes into the 40s occasionally.

Hello Jacob. Noctua has an extensive list on their web site of all the coolers that will cool each cpu. The list will give the cooler a 1,2, or 3 green pie rating in regards to how much overclocking headroom that the cooler will supply that CPU. You could also just understand the rating to tell you how much margin or extra cooling you have to avoid overheating while running the CPU without over clocking. I like to have plenty of margin so for me I like at least 2 green pie pieces for a 2 out of 3 on overclocking headroom. Poke around on noctua's site you'll find it.

How many clips for the fan does this come with? If I wanted to buy a second 140mm fan to mount on the top of the cooler, would I need to buy extra clips?

I added a second fan myself and did not need to order more clips. So they either came with the first fan & radiator, or they came with the second fan. Either way, there were enough clips.

What height ram will this clear with the fan in the bottom position?

The "best answer" is correct with some modifications. In a vertical mobo arrangement there are three (3) positions the cooler can be set. So it also depends on where your ram is and how the cooler is mounted.

It comes with 4 fan clips total. 2 clips and fan are attached to the heatsink in the box. 2 additional 140mm clips are in a baggie with the accessories.

This (bought August 6th, 2019) comes with the AM4 spacers for AM4 motherboards to mount this cooler. The description does not say it. ?

I have bought half a dozen of these in the past few years and the last one I bought came with one. If it does not come with one, Noctura will send you one for free.

Low Profile Mode
