Does it come with an ethernet port and a port for a moniter? New to this

Yes and yes, any desktop will come with an Ethernet port barring any strange circumstances...as for a monitor the motherboard has a DVI port, so make sure any monitor is compatible with that...I personally ran an HDMI cable through the graphics card. If you use HDMI, which I recommend, make sure it's running through the graphics card and not the motherboard (your motherboard is the vertical component in the back of the tower)

Can the processor be upgraded from the i5 to an i7?

I just swapped out the i5 for i7-7700k. It's the 3rd upgrade I've done. Upon initial boot I wasn't getting any power to my keyboard and mouse, and my monitor wasn't clicking on. No dreaded beeps or anything just seemed like I didn't have enough power. To test this theory, I unplugged the DVD player (i never use it) and booted back up. It booted up without any issues. The machine is flying. It's definitely a noticeable improvement. If the i7 is the only upgrade you're planning on doing then I think you should be fine with the current PSU. If you are planning more upgrades then I would definitely advise upgrading the PSU. That's me next one before I do the GPU. Also, I kept the original heat sink/fan. I did not overclock the CPU. Just for informative purposes, I've added a 500 gb ssd on top of 1tb HDD and added a 16g stick of ram. I'm just over year owning this pc and no major issues. Hope this helps.

Any two sticks of GDDR4 should do it really. Two 4gb cards will pump you up to 16. In my honest opinion though, 8gb of RAM is more than enough for most anything.

Is there an open m2 connection on the motherboard for a SSD?

It appears there is. If you look at the picture which shows the motherboard, you can see an empty M.2 slot between the CPU and video card.

Is the RAM a single 8gb card or two 4gb cards? If it is a single 8gb card, can I buy a second 8gb card to upgrade memory?

If I wanted to buy a new graphics card say the evga 1080 tI could I easily switch the 1060 out?

would be suggested to upgrade the PSU.. however per calculations on outervisions power supply calculator the load calculation is 423.. and recommended PSU wattage is 478, that being said.. per calculations its enough.. however i would stil upgrade PSU if your going with the 1080 TI.. as you will be putting the PSU at high load everytime you game.
