This cooler blocks first PCI Express slot?
I need to know.

Kinda depends on your mobo i suppose, but mine fit in just fine with enough clearance for my R9 Fury w/ backplate with some room to spare. Ended up replacing it with a AIO cooler, but this did pretty darn well too.

Can this cool a i5-8600k with possible modest OC?

It can cool my i5-7600k playing VR just fine (without OC), but it is a beefy heat sink so I'm sure It'l do the job. I'd also make sure you have plenty of airflow through the case as well, hope this helps!

Is this compatible with Ryzen?

I believe so. The base plate that attaches itself to the motherboard is reversible and has screw inserts for AMD's AM4 chip, which ryzen uses. That said, I've not seen the processor so I don't know if it's thicker than other AM4's, but I doubt that it is and I doubt that would matter anyway; this cooler is pretty neat like that and well built.

Question 4

What temps have you had with this cooler on idle and under normal load and with which CPU?

I believe at idle I was sitting at about 20-30 c, and at load I got up to roughly 50-60c, maybe low 70's. I have an i5-6600k and it is overclocked, but I opted for a liquid cooler anyway before I tried the OC. (Very rough numbers recalled from memory and not from a specific benchmark test but rather from sustained periods of gameplay, so take with a big ole' grain of salt.)

Question 5

Does this fan come with any thermal paste? If it does, is it good enough, or should I buy a different brand? If so, any brand recommendations?

It does come with Enermax's own brand of thermal paste.  I can't tell you how good it is, but there's not much difference between most brands unless you care about a couple degree difference.  Personally, I use Arctic Silver 5.  You can get the kit for $12 that includes the fluids for cleaning off old paste or just the tube for $5.  It's worked well on all my systems.

Question 6

Is this compatible with Intel LGA 1151 sockets? I just wanted to double check that considering the ETS-T40F is compatible with these sockets and this one doesn't claim to be.
