This review is from: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 512-P3-N801-AR
Pros:
What can I say, for under $300 you can have a powerhouse that will almost near GTX levels at stock clock speeds! The board is well made, fast, and not too awefully power hungry. Looks great too, slim design, single slot cooler design. Did I mention it's fast?
Cons:
Single slot cooler design. Looks great, but the card can hit pretty high temps under load. If you want to be able to OC the hell out of it, you will need a custom cooler. Arctic Cooling S1's fit.
Overall Review:
Upgraded directly from an X1900XTX 512mb that served me for almost 2 years. Major difference immediately. Runs great in Vista as well. No you won't be able to max Crysis out at 16x10 very high but it'll come close.
To squash any upcoming questions, yes, PCI-e 2.0 works just fine in PCI-e 1.1. Buy one now!
