This review is from: HEC 6AR6BB2F Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros:
Removable HDD bay with pre-installed rubber mounts. Removable (and thus, cleanable) front fan filter. Screwless fan holders for front and rear.
Cons:
This case had a lot of good ideas that were just poorly executed.
Clip things to hold in your expansion slot cards? Good idea! Making it so that almost no card could actually make use of it? Bad idea! (at least they made the clip things removable).
Having a removable HDD bay? Good idea! Placing it in such a way that not even an 8800GT can fit (without special placement of the hard drives)? Bad idea!
Using addon clamps to make 5.25'' drives easily removable? Good idea! Making it so you HAVE to use their addon clamps to get anything to stay in (no option to screw it on)? Bad idea!
Overall Review:
My personal killer was the addon metal clamps for the 5.25'' bay drives. When I added them to my DVD-ROM drive, they would not fit AT ALL into the case. I made sure everything was in order, everything lined up perfectly...except that, with the clamps, they were too wide to fit (and no amount of muscling could get them in). I ended up zip-tying my drives in the case like one of the other folks did, but that just doesn't cut it for me. This case was NOT designed for the enthusiast in mind.
Dumped this and got an Antec three hundred, couldn't be happier. Call me old-fasioned, but I like the security of screws.
