12V CPU DOA 02/11/2010
This review is from: PC Power & Cooling ModXStream Pro Series 700 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ700MXSP)
Pros:
I love the idea of a green PSU. Also, the modular design is a plus. I actually ordered this because my case has a bottom mount. As stated, you may need to buy an extension to the 12V CPU power to route around the video. VERY quiet fan... maybe that leads to a CON!
Cons:
Well, it doesn't work. It powers up, but not enough power to get the BIOS on. I figured it is either the 12 main rail or the CPU power. Bought a new Ant*C today at the local store because I needed this computer TODAY. Sure enough, here I am typing on the computer. I was sorry I couldn't wait for Newegg but I spend another $600 dollars so they are not sad! :)
I would advise spending a little more on a better brand, given the number of failures at an unacceptable rate.
Too bad it seems QC may be an issue at OCZ. They do make a great RAM!
Overall Review:
Newegg is always ready to refund if you comply with the AGREEMENT YOU MADE. I hate it when people get mad because they threw away a box before 30 days and then complain. Maybe if you actually R-E-A-D the agreement, then you will know what the deal is.
Manufacturer Response:
Hello,we are sorry for the problem. We are pleased to hear that you have your rig is running and that our memory is working well for you.
Thank you
