Gigabyte my savior 10/21/2010
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros:
Great motherboard for 775socket, DDR2, and single gpu; use all my old components. North bridge ran nice a cool with prime95 and Q6600 @ 3.0ghz.
With this board, Windows XP 32-bit recognizes 3.5gb/4.0gb ram (better than old 3.0gb, i guess)
Cons:
No north bridge fan for piece of mind with overclocking.
Ram slots are close to cpu slot, if you want to use all four dimms make sure your aftermarket cooler doesn't get in the way. I'm using a Thermalright u-120e copper + San Ace 120x38mm fan and Dimm1 and Dimm2 are not accessable
Overall Review:
This board replaced my first overclocking victim, MSI P6N SLi Platium. I stated before I wish there was a north bridge fan but, i have not had a problem (just warm to the touch without a fan @ 3.0Ghz).
Added an Antec fan to the north bridge for 3.6Ghz.
No problems, and loving it.
Q6600 revG0 @ 3.6Ghz 1.32V
Corsair 2x2GB CM2X2048-8500C5D @ 1000mhz 2.1V
MSI gtx460 1GD5 @ stock
Corsair 1000HX (overkill)
