Good performance, poor design 12/14/2010
This review is from: ZOTAC GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card ZT-40603-10L
Pros:
Good performance to price ratio. Bumped Win 7 graphics from 4.6/5.3 to 6.6/6.6 on my Phenom II 3 GHz quad core desktop. Relatively quiet fan.
Cons:
Poor design. First, in a low profile install, the d-sub connector bracket must go in the slot to the left/above the card. The heatsink/fan shroud blocks its use on the other side. Next, the d-sub connector cannot be removed without removing the heatsink/fan shroud and this entails removing four tiny screws. A little forethought could have prevented both of these faults.
